Good price for a 3 course meal, very delicious. Our waiter was a very nice and professional young man he made our experience better. The hotel in itself is very nice and the restaurant is also equally very nice, couples could easily spend a romantic dinner for two and have the experience being served by quality waiters and delicious food. I will definitely be back when in Volendam again.

Booked a table for 4 adults and 2 children a few hours in advance, apparently the restaurant was so busy that we got a table in front of the door to the kitchen.
Waiters and waitresses running past our table like a beehive.
We got served quite quickly by a friendly waitress which appeared to be very professional.
She took our drink order and explained the specials on the menu.
Our choice from the menu was sautéed mushrooms, soup, grilled yellow tail tuna and Dutch pancakes for the kids.
The soup was ok in flavor but as it was served in a cold plate it was cooled down to Luke warm before our first sip.
The tuna was tasty, full of flavor and very well presented.
The mushrooms were ok in flavor but for some odd reason they were really greasy.
Our choice of main course consisted the chicken pieces in sate sauce (peanut sauce) with sweat and sour and a large prawn cracker, lobster "termidor" and grilled salmon.
The chicken was tender and juicy but the sauce kind of blend.
The lobster was tasty... a bit chewy and not oven roasted as Thermidor suggest.
The salmon was more pan seared than grilled but very nicely cooked.
The complimentary side dishes do not compliment the dishes as all the different dishes get the same tasteless side dish.
Only two desserts to finish our dinner.
A "dame blanche" and Crème brûlée.
The first is your average vanilla ice cream with bought in chocolate sauce.
The second is a really nicely cooked custard with an excellent crisp layer of caramel.
To accompany our dinner we choose two different glasses of Sauvignon blanc from the wine list.
The wine list is compiled by an off site sommelier which is not the main issue but it would be nice if your staff would be informed and trained on the matter
We paid nearly 180 euros, a reasonable price if the issues above did not take place.

Thank Goliat

My wife and I had dinner there on a Sunday evening and it was very busy. The service was okay and friendly, but it could have been a bit faster...
I also think that when guests are presented with the food menus, the wine menu should be included. Now I had to ask for it twice, and still it took a long time to arrive!
The chateaubriand for two was tender, very nice and well presented, and there's a choice of sauces to choose from.
The included chips and fried potatoes tasted pre cooked and were not crispy.
When the waitress took our order, she asked if we wanted mayonaise to be included. We confirmed that, but it did not come with our dinner, so we had to ask for that again.
I finished with a cheese platter and that was very nice.
