What a beautiful beach! Great to see golden sand instead of the usual grey colour. Spent a lovely few hours playing in the water and sand. Safe for young kids. Already planning a trip back Would be a perfect spot to spend a lazy couple of days. Parking limited during busy times but we didn’t have too much trouble finding a spot to park and we didn’t mind the little walk from our parking spot to the southern end of the beach.

Fantastic beach. Beautiful sand, safe swimming for children, amazing at both low and high tide. Lots of short walks to look outs nearby. Pub, shop and camping ground over the road.

We caught our water taxi to Abel Tasman right off the beach. It’s a nice long sandy beach at high tide & there is plenty of parking too. When we came back on the water taxi from our hike it was low tide & there were lots of shells & rocks that were great for collecting.

Kaiteriteri Beach features crowds and overdevelopment: full car parks, tour buses and shuttle vans, restaurants, stores, snack bars, ticket booths, and Abel Tasman tour boats. If you like that environment, then this is the place, but I would give it only three stars. However, several hundred yards to the south is an uncrowded, scenic gem -- Little Kaiteriteri Beach. One can reach it by taking a short hike up and over the headland separating it from Kaiteriteri Beach, or when driving into town, take a right turn at the sign for "Little Kaiteriteri" instead of the left turn to Kaiteriteri. A short drive away is a car park for the small nature preserve right at the beach. Same crystal clear water, same view out to sea, just with fewer crowds and five stars.

I cannot believe how stunning this beach is! I understand why its one of New Zealand's most loved beaches. I went swimming, kayaking and fishing here. Very picturesque.
