We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in September. The weather has been absolutely fine (30 degrees C during afternoon), so we loved to use the big and sunny hotel terrace for having a very good drink or two before going to dinner.

The hotel is very close to the lovely beach (50 meters) where you can rent the usual sun umbrella (expensive) from the locals.

Our room has been very clean, the beds have been of a good quality and we loved our comfy stay.

The breakfast has been of a slightly above average quality. The evening dinner (we booked half board) has been exceptionally good. The dining room personnel has been good (we the exception of Mr. C. who on some evenings seems false and acts with artificial smile).

Absolut fantastic is the reception team. They have been able to support in all cases (organising a garage for our car, able to answer all questions about how to travel to cinque terre by train, organising a scooter for a day). Fantastic.

We already planned to come back.

We spent 10 days in August 2018 and we gained on average 2kg each!
The hotel is nice and clean and really nicely located with easy access to the beach. We had grandma on wheel chair and we managed very easily inside the hotel (ground floor room) and on the way to the beach. 5 min drive to the beautiful Sestri Levante if you want to see some shops and a lot more people.

The service at the hotel is generally very good and all the staff is always very welcoming. But the crown jewel of this hotel is the kitchen and its food. Being Italians we believe we do have high standards when it comes to our food and this hotel has the best food we have found in many years of Riviera Ligure. The fish dishes were always impeccable, and the pasta (the lasagne being a 10/10!) was always perfect. Great choice of ingredients and attention to details. Very nice to have the option to chose among 3 pasta options and 3 main courses every meal. Also the ice-cream was top (strawberry and crema). Every meal we over-ate, but happily to. If you really want to hit the jack pot, try to spend Saturday evening dinner there when the Grand Buffet will blow your mind (and belly!) The service in the restaurant was also very very professional with great attention to our little requests and always impeccable courtesy.

We were looking for a relaxing place to spend a few days and we were very pleased with all.

We stayed here for 3 nights via Travelbird Holland and can recommend it to everyone. Very nice, clean and great food. Fortunately we could park in the garage, which was very convenient. Reception was very friendly too, just like all the personnel, who ran to be at our service.

Hotel Doria is a quaint hotel in the suburb of Cavi of the town Lavagna.
The staff is always friendly and helpful and you feel welcomed from the beginning. Breakfast is decent and dinner is superb. The hotel in itself is clean and kept well in shape. Only point of complaint is the free WiFi access zu the internet, which provides speeds only up to 256kb. Timely surfing is just not possible and forget online entertainment. Messaging works at least. VPNs appear to be blocked.
The neighborhood is quiet and the sea is close (stoney shore, don't expect white sands). Hiking and outdoor sports are available in the vicinity, but reaching either city centers (Lavagna or Sestri Levante) requires either cycling or driving. Pisa and Genova are about an hour to 90min away and make for good visits.
Roadside parking is available free of charge, a garage spot is 10€ for 24 hours.

Somewhat older place with other hotels closed in the neighbourhood. The reception-staff did not seem to know much and had local guide-leaflet in French only. Service staff in Restaurant very friendly. Excellent food and good wine.
