We just returned from a fabulous 1 week stay at the Lanthia resort to celebrate our honeymoon after getting married on the Amalfi coast. It was the perfect place for peace, relaxation, and luxury after an action packed wedding, and the gracious staff really put the experience over the top.

The gardens and grounds of the resort were impeccably maintained and full of lush local flowers and vegetation. With the dramatic cliffs of Sardinia in the background it made for a stunning spot. The pool and beach area were also so well situated and taken care of. The thoughtful design and attention to detail made the setting so lovely. We enjoyed especially the hammocks and lounge chairs in the pine forest overlooking the sea. Sitting there in the warm breeze with the smell of pine trees and the sounds of the sea makes you feel like you have died and gone to heaven. The beach chairs and pool chairs were also very comfortable for extended relaxing!

The room we had (Lotzorai) was spacious and comfortable with modern and subtle design touches that made it feel special. The linens and towels were all very comfortable and luxurious. The cleaning staff did a perfect job and were very detail oriented.

What truly sets the Lanthia apart though is the outstanding staff, who are passionate about making sure you have a great experience at the resort. The lovely lovely ladies at the front desk welcomed us warmly and helped us set up a massage and a boat rental for exploring the coast. Julian at breakfast is the sweetest and most thoughtful guy, and the entire staff at dinner did an outstanding job in making us feel welcome and pampered. It was like a dream, and really made our honeymoon special.

The restaurant is such a great ambience and the food was thoughtfully prepared and very delicious, with a nice focus on fresh and local ingredients. We especially recommend the homemade fragola and the chocolate dessert. The breakfast was bountiful and satisfying. The fruits were so fresh and full of taste, not what we are used to in Amsterdam, and it was great to have all of the local cheeses, meats, and delicious scrambled eggs prepared with care.

Though we did find ourselves craving a bit more variety for lunches and dinners so tried a few different places throughout our stay. In Santa Maria Navarrese we can whole heartedly recommend the yummy and quirky Mec Puddus which is something of a local legend (we went there 3 times and tried the goat but lacked the courage to go for the donkey pizza!). We also recommend to avoid Toma, which was really disappointing despite the beautiful setting.

A few things to do in the area which were recommended by the staff are to rent a boat at the harbor from Nautica and take it along the coast which was an unforgettable experience. We also did a big hike to Canyon Gorropu which was gorgeous.

Overall we had a fabulous week and would love to return to the Lanthia resort. The wonderful modern architecture and design, lush and inspiring landscape, delicious local food, and most of all the caring and dedicated staff made it truly a week to remember. Thank you Lanthia for making our honeymoon so amazing!

Lovely restaurant with well priced food and wine
Clean rooms
Very friendly waiters (especially Julian, nothing was too much trouble and extremely helpful and attentive)
Access to 'private beach' and although it clearly isn't private, it's still a nice beach and was relatively peaceful with easy access from the hotel

House keeping start at 7:30am and make no effort to be quiet, becomes very annoying when trying to rest on holiday - don't expect a lay in.

Booked upgraded double room but did not feel like an upgrade - balconies connect to neighbours as well so no privacy and no hot drinks facilities.

We had to check out early due to unforeseen family circumstances and management were extremely inflexible and unhelpful. Even though the hotel was full, and they could clearly rent the room again, there was zero refund offered for the two nights we couldn't use the room.

Overall, it was ok, but not worth the premium price tag and reputation this hotel comes with. The restaurant is worth a visit though.

We really enjoyed our stay. We had a quiet bungalow behind the pool (senorri).
Hotel is very nice. Great garden, pool and beach.
Breakfast was good for italian Standards.
Reco: do the trail to pedra longa and another day the boat trip the hotel recommends. It is really worth it. ❤️

We chose Lanthia Resort to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We thought we would stay somewhere impressive and sophisticated (judging by the reviews and photos anyway!) to celebrate our special day. We had previously stayed at three other hotels on the island before checking into Lanthia without any complaints, we had had a great time! Despite the wonderful welcome, which had the wow factor, this hotel turned out to be irritating in a few areas, which made for a frustrating stay.

For our anniversary meal on the evening that we arrived we chose to dine in the hotel restaurant. Like the rest of the hotel it’s a very attractive looking environment, but unfortunately the kitchen found it extremely difficult to cater for a vegan. I’m not hard to please I promise you. But a total lack of imagination and flavour is what I was served. The dish that was prepared was shop bought spaghetti with a tasteless, barely there, salty tomato sauce. Very bland and the pasta was hard. We did get €6.00 off this dish. But it was originally billed at €12.00! I could not eat it. For a flavoursome tomato sauce and edible pasta I would have been grateful to pay €12.00 for this simple dish. It was our anniversary, we had had a magical and busy day but I went to bed hungry. The breakfast buffet however gave me more options and it was a similar offering to the other hotels we had stayed at on the island. The staff were attentive and hardworking to ensure we were looked after at breakfast each day.

Our next issue was privacy which came to light after dinner. I had booked a Junior Suite thinking we would have some quiet time overlooking a garden. Wrong! Our room was ground level with a double patio door within a complex of four neighbouring rooms. It was an L shape of rooms and we were in the middle. Our room was opposite the pathway so we could see our neighbours coming and going from their rooms and see them sitting outside, so they could have a good look at us too. There was a blackout blind, plus a lighter curtain to draw across in our room, but the lighter curtain set off a lurid green colour so the room was dark and green if we wanted any privacy in the day. The bathroom and bedroom area is open plan, so with no blind our neighbours could see us lying on the bed, brushing our teeth and potentially taking a bath! Green is not a romantic colour or good for reading in. So we had the curtains open if the neighbours were out.

To divide the apartments, outside there were prickly pears and a bit of bamboo, but nothing really substantial for privacy. Each room has a seating area and table - and an ashtray! We are not smokers but the residents to our left were enthusiastic smokers and they liked to talk lots outside too. Air conditioning was not available due to it “being winter” but the room was an airless box that got very warm due to the glass doors. So we had to keep the doors open when we were in, all night too. So our option was to sit in a green tinged room with the doors open, with cigarette smoke filtering in and neighbours hacking and coughing and generally talking away as if they were in the room with us, they were so loud. The right hand side of the patio door was unable to be cleaned, leaving a dirty window to look though to our smoking, grumbling neighbours when we got bored of sitting in a green room. The right hand window had condensation damage. The left side of the door/window was spotless as was the rest of our room and it was cleaned every day and left with fresh towels. The window was no fault of the staff but it did look awful. The window should be replaced.

Wifi across the island is poor but Lanthia hinted at high speed Internet. We did not get much access to the Internet our entire stay. So on two rainy days we were sitting with the door wide open with no blind reading on the bed with the hotel staff and neighbours going about their business, watching them thorough that dirty condensation stained window.

The staff at Lanthia Resort are absolutely fantastic, very attentive but after the first night meal incident we felt we couldn’t ask to change our room half way through our stay as we didn’t want to look like professional complainers. We were embarrassed and dumbfounded by our experience. It’s a nice looking resort with carefully tended grounds. Our room had some nice features and I liked its layout. The hotel is in a great location and I liked the tunnel to the beach, but its not a place I would want to relax or dine in. We found it difficult to do either.

With the air conditioning turned on, a tasteful white net curtain for privacy and light, a clean window, and a room not next door to loud talking smokers would of made all the difference.

the hotel is beautiful and decorated with quality furnitures. the staff was service minded with a personal touch. unfurtunatly the aircondition didnt´work in our room and since the room did´t have any windows that we could open during night we had hardly no oxigen in the room. after showering the hole room was very damp and smogy. the restaurant is nice and with a good meny, but sorry to say that it was not tasty at all.
