Spent two lovely relaxing weeks here. The customer care at reception is excellent and the staff communicate very effectively eg pre-arrival responding quickly to emails & in person during our stay, helpful, friendly & informative. I would support all positive reviews regarding lanscape / pool / facilities / location etc. My only comment to improve for the future would be to make clear that 1 bed apartments do not include a separate bedroom & living space. The kitchenette & bed is in the same room & despite size being ok, would have preferred bedroom in a different room. We coped though! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Our first trip to Sardinia, having no idea of where to stay, we decided to try our luck at this apartment compound, it wasn't a bad decision after all. Upon checking in, we were welcomed by a very friendly lady, even our dog (we brought along our 1 y.o. dog) was greeted very pleasantly which made us feel very much welcomed!

Our apt. is at the1st floor facing at garden with far end the parking area and on the side with mountain view. The apt. itself is not that big but it is good maintained, well cleaned and well prepared ( the sofa beds for our 2 kids were nicely made), consists of a little kitchenette with sitting area, a master bedroom next to a bathroom with standing shower and several small balconies surrounding the apartment with one bigger one to sit outside or to dry our wet laundries.

Swimming pool is good, it is a children friendly pool (not too deep). The warm meal /snack from the F&B outlet at poolside, can be improved though, they are i think mostly microwave meal?

Overal it is a very good address to stay in Tancau, the only downside we experienced on our 7 days-stay there was the airco which didn't work properly. It was extremely hot in the room 24/7, therefore to keep the room cool, the windows/door/shutters were always closed in the day time and we sat outside a lot.

Nevertheless there are so many positive points we need to emphasize, such as:
- a FOC usage of washing machine and drier
- Housekeeping will change the bedlinnen and bath towels on every 4th day of the day
- a 5 minutes walk down to the beach and a 15 minutes walk to the next village, Santa Maria Navarrese
- very friendly and helpful staffs
- resort's offer of 15% discount at selected restaurant by showing yr room key
- a very tidy apt complex/resort

I stayed for a week at Tancau village. It is ideally located, just a few minutes to the beach which was never crowded.
The apartments are clean and simple and have everything you need. I would advise you to take something for mosquitoes as there is some sort of river bed adjacent to the complex.
I'm not usually fond of swimming pools but I did spend some time in this one. There is no rush for sun loungers, always space and it is just a calm and peaceful place. No loud music or animation! There's a bar for drinks and snacks.

The area is very quiet. There are only a handful of restaurants and the visitors are mainly Italian (although of course there were some Germans). From Santa Maria de Navaressa (harbour) you can hire a zodiac for the day to explore the coastline to the north. This is a must - truly an unforgettable experience because the sea is so blue in places it doesn't even look real.

A car is useful to get around and to go to the supermarket or visit other beaches to the South. We traveled towards Olbia on the way back through the mountains. Well worth it!

All in all a pleasant stay, for those who want to unwind, love the sea and its beauty.

In August my wife and I stayed in a second floor apartment with kitchen and terrace. During our stay the outside temperature was 93 degrees Farenheit. We should have gone elsewhere.

The grounds of Tancau Resort include a huge pool with a nice lawn and small mountains in the distance. Any photograph you take shows that the place is beautiful. Unfortunately, there are several problems not evident in pictures.

First, the air conditioner in the room is incompetent. Secondly there are no trees on the property to provide shade. Finally, the pool is only 3 feet deep. It would have made more sense to stay in a simple hotel with good air conditioning one mile way in Santa Maria Navarrese.

The good news about this Tancau Resort is that beautiful Tancau Beach ich is only 100 yards away. Its a white sandy beach, and not crowded. You can rent a lounge chair and umbrella for 15 euros. The water is a beautiful blue/green, and you need only walk about 10 steps before the depth is 5 feet. There is also an excellent out door restaurant/bar located in the pine forest parallel to the beach, the Flamingo Bar Ristorante. It serve fresh whole sea bass from an outdoor grill, tasty mussels and Sardinian style pasta.

My advice is to stay at the Tancau Resort ONLY IF it is not too hot outside, due to its proximity to Tancau Beach. If its very hot, stay in nearby Santa Maria Navarrese and drive to Tancau Beach.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing Tancau Village for your holiday. Although we are aware of the fact that it is not easy to satisfy all our guests, we truly take comments very seriously and we are sorry of any disappointing experience. This summer we have been experiencing the highest temperatures over the past 50 years. On request we provided complimentary additional A/C units and tips/suggestions on how to optimize the use of central air conditioning.

Shade. All our apartments have a shaded terrace or veranda, both on ground and on first floor. Pool area is equipped with an average of 50 umbrellas of 3 mt diameter plus a 135 sq mt gazebo beside the pool. Indeed no big trees have been planted, like nearby camp site, our green environment is made of Mediterranean bush, different kind of palms and centuries-old olive trees.

Tancau Village is, no doubt, a family oriented resort. Our swimming pool, the biggest open pool in Ogliastra, has been designed with a progressive depth pond-shape floor, more safe for children, with a max depth at its centre or 1.98 mt (6’7”). We believe that our dear guest might have not utilized the pool thoroughly and maybe judged it only from the outside. We wish to apologize for any inconveniences the Guest has experienced.

Can't thank Luigi and his team enough for their hospitality. His motto is "once you arrive leave the rest to us" and that is certainly obviously followed by all his team. They can't do enough to give recommendations of places to visit and places to eat. This is a quiet family report with a nice pool and clean small accommodations. The aim is to have a relaxing time. There is not a great deal to do in the area - it is necessary to have a car - but you should do:

Canyon tour, Grotto Su Marmuri, Boat trip, walk to Petra Longa etc etc. My personal favourite restaurant after trying all in the area is Toma - but reserve and go early to see the sunset and get great service.

Any negatives - would be really struggling to find anything. Wifi is not great but it works around the pool and if you need to be connected all the time then perhaps this isn't the holiday for you.

Enjoy the peace and calm and don't expect 5 star luxury and you can't go wrong with Tancau Village Resort. Luigi's team is there to make it a very enjoyable holiday.
