Booked last minute due to weather problems. Excellent undercover car park. Receptionist very efficient and good English. Resturant service excellent. Room a bit sparse but fine and excellent view over the square and the cathedral. Everything was exactly as required. a different receptionist at checkout again no problems all ok.

Having returned to Kaposvár for a short visit, I had a craving for Hortobagy Palincinta. Palacinta, crepes, normally a dessert dish, the Hortobagy Palacinta is the only one served with stuffed meat wrapped on the palacinta and topped with paprika & sour cream sauce.

Waiting for Mass to start across the street at the cathedral, I spent a pleasant hour sipping on a glass of Kethelyi Olaszrizling. This dry white wine went well with (extra) crispy French fries - the only thing on the menu that I could force to be a snack. Service was good. They have three tables outside designated as non-smoking, and they were positioned upwind, so no tobacco fumes!

As I'm living in the area, I've had heard a lot of this hotels good all week brunch, so now it's has to been tested. OK I'm not quite aware how much or there its possible to call "this" a brunch ! I'm pretty sure that the people who have been telling me about this so-called "brunch" NEVER have been in the US and tested a real brunch. Let's be honest, this so-called"brunch" sucks ! The only good thing was the scrambled eggs, period. The typically USSR build hotel is located in the middle of the town, on the main square. The hotel is awful, as I write a typical USSR build hotel. The surroundings are very beautiful, staff polite and international speaking (German). Price level very cheap.

It is a convenient location, sitting right off the plaza. Breakfast was a bit sparse (continental). Each room seems to have balconies overlooking the plaza. Beds are basic. Rooms clean and simple. The location makes it.
