This was our second time to stay at Adya hotel, with exactly one year between both visits. The fact that the ultimate experience we had on our first visit remained just as great was really the best thing about it. Usually, hotels are great when they are new and need business but later the tend to start ignoring the little details. Not at Adya - they had a full house and still made us feel we are their only guests.. the same welcoming atmosphere and smiling faces all around. And to wrap up a fantastic experience, one of the friendly hotel team, Aisha, ensured that we get a complimentary dinner as a thank-you gesture for being returning guests! Who could ask for more?

One of best hotel I've ever stayed. Friendly and helpful staff, clean, new and comfortable room. location good, near shopping complex. nice view from window too. breakfast ok. will stay again next time visit langkawi. highly recommended!

we booked 2 rooms and stayed there for 2 nights...check in process was slow..could only check in for 1 room at 3pm..had to wait till 4pm before the second room was ready..staff wasnt very friendly...the rooms were however spacious and had private balcony with great view ..breakfast was good..daily housekeeping is available, though it's pretty slow (late afternoon: 5pm)..overall stay was average.

Stayed here because of the wonderful reviews and the amazing price of S$63 per night.
Whoever wrote those reviews definitely don't share my standards.

Staff were really friendly. Ever willing but not always able.

On checking in, we found the air-conditioning in our room not working. Transpired that the air-conditioning for the whole floor was not working. Promised they'd fix it in 20 minutes. After the third 20 min, gave up and asked for a change of room. This time the air-conditioning worked.

Rooms were of a good size. Mini-bar was empty and meant to be so guests could stock up themselves. Bathroom didn't have a glass for toothbrushes. After four days, still did not succeed in getting a simple glass. Bath towels were provided. No hand towel, no face towel. Staff confessed that hotel didn't have them. Like they only had one key for the two of us because they'd run out of keys.

The duvet provided was one suitable for sub-zero temperatures. Couldn't sleep all night. Cold without cover, hot under a thick duvet. Asked for a thinner blanket and got provided with a bed sheet.

ON the map, the hotel is a short walk to the beach. In reality, there was no beach and no way of walking to the sea anyway. Nearest swimmable beach was half an hour's drive away.

WiFi was flaky. Often so slow that my iPad's cellular had to step in.

House-keeping was equally flaky. Didn't leave a spare roll of toilet paper even though the one roll in use was coming to an end. Sugar, coffee and tea were just dumped in a container, not arranged nicely.

The staff were friendly and helpful but obviously lacked training.

Breakfast spread was good BUT although food that was supposed to be hot were laid out in chaffing dishes, the flames were never lit. Hence, cold food!

The pool was rather spartan. unadorned pool with a few deck chairs and tables and chairs. There was a separate pool for ladies. Out of bounds to wicked male eyes. My companion says it's rather nice, but never saw anyone in it.

The only facility remotely suggesting a resort was the spa. Quite pleasant, but unreliable. Found it closed without notice on our second day there.

In short, a two star business hotel. Nice and friendly staff but seriously needs improvement. Found out that it's owned by the state of Kedah. Sort of explains it?

Room Tip: Go stay elsewhere

My husband & I stayed at this hotel for three nights recently. Our experience overall was good except for the terrible inefficiency of the reception girls who forgot all about us and made us wait in the uncomfortable lobby for almost 2 hours when a room was already available.

We arrived at 11:30 AM and had informed our time of arrival at the time of booking. But our room was not ready and we were asked to wait. We waited in the lobby for almost 2 hours with the hot sun streaming through the high ceiling to floor glass windows. We were not offered even a glass of water whereas when someone known to them arrived they were offered hot refreshing towels. Finally, I went up to the reception and asked and the girls apologised and gave the card to our room. I found the girls at the front desk very inefficient and careless.

On the positive side - Nice, spacious, clean and comfortable rooms with excellent views from the balcony. Lot of facilities and prompt service when requested. Excellent breakfast with a large range of choices. An ironing board with iron is also provided. Good and courteous staff except the inefficiency of girls at the front desk. This hotel is particularly good for practising Muslims as they provide all facilities such as a prayer mat and even transport for Friday prayers.

The bed had very good & clean linen however the mattress is on the softer side - not good for bad backs. It would also be nice if there was some more provision to hang clothes in the bathroom.

There is a shopping mall very close to the hotel and plenty of cheap eateries in the vicinity. The bell boys or door staff are very courteous and very helpful.

Room Tip: All rooms have a balcony and good views.
