We decided to book a room at this beautiful venue as we were attending a function. It was quite easy to find and you get the wow factor on arrival. The place looks amazing, the hall, building and grounds. Check-in was seamless and staff were very friendly. We were shown to our room with was at the front of the main hall.
The room was very nice keeping in the tradition of the Hall. The furniture was dated but ok. The on-suite bathroom had a walk in shower and was perfect. It was a very comfy bed.
The function we attended was a 3 course meal which was faultless, the food was amazing, full of flavour well presented and well portioned.
The hotel bar was well used. the drinks were reasonably priced, it was nice to be served a real ale in a tankard glass.
We arrived for breakfast and was seated and served promptly. I was a little surprised to be served a hot breakfast as opposed to a buffet style. My only gripe was the butter portion size on the table for the toast. It covered about one slice, I sure we could have requested more but should we have to?
We didn't use the spa facilities but people in our group di and said they were outstanding.
Overall a fantastic venue and well worth a visit.More
