Very adequate accommodation in stunning location, with very friendly and helpful hosts! All amenities provided, clean and spacious. Can easily take 7 people (2 double beds, and 3 single beds in 4 bedrooms). Not luxury but very good quality for the money.
Struggling to see how this property has 5 stars off most people. Location is great, surrounding was area good for dog walking. However ( and these are just honest observations based on many self catering experiences in Scotland ) the red carpet throughout was an obvious diy job, wrinkled and not secure in parts. The rear ground-floor bedroom carpet had dirty marks on it. The ground floor bath panel was split over a 300 mm length. The cooker extract hood was not secure at the hinge, I informed the owner who had no knowledge of this, curious as it had a makeshift repair to one side! The conservatory seating had cream cushions which were both stained with something-disgusting. Worst of all was the hole in the leather sofa arm which I informed the owner about-he was aware of it as he presumably was about its general tired/worn condition, and believe me it's not designed to look like this. We put the heating on when we arrived-mid Sept-to find 75% of the radiators turned off, good job I had a tool to sort it. Seems like a small thing but it's attention to detail that you are entitled to expect. One can forgive the odd issue that landlords can't fix immediately but really, this seemed to be a property that he was quite happy taking your money but had no intention of investing in its up keep. And a quick note to the owner who I talked to, a happy friendly can't do enough to help attitude might fool some but actions speak louder than words my friend. Our general impression was of a property that was in need of a complete revamp and not one the we expected to pay around £800 for in off season. Needless to say we wouldn't recommend it to anyone or stay there again.

We had a great stay. Heathfield house has everything you need. It was clean and inviting and you felt at home straight away. We were 2 families, the kids slept upstairs and were delighted to have their own space!! Beautiful countryside and walks and so much exploring to be done in the north of Scotland. Hope to go back again.
