“Perfect location, clean and straight forward accommodation, approachable owner”
Reviewed May 30, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Our group of 34 aged between 8 and 63 really enjoyed the Ship. Clean, well equipped and spacious with a pool table and home cinema . All the bedding was fresh and comfortable, all the showers worked and there are shops nearby. We have been holidaying annually as a large family group for over 25 years . We have been to good and not so good places but this is the first place that really had thought through what a large group needs...2 dishwashers, two large fridges, two sinks, masses of cutlery, crockery and glasses AND pans big enough to to cater for the numbers (a first..we always bring our own and this year they were redundant). The car parking was brilliant . Most importantly the owner was on the end of the phone and responsive.

The area is brilliant ...mountains, rivers, beaches, seaside entertainment , shopping, gardens, castles, all within 20 minutes/half an hours. Also directly outside the property a bus stop with regular services to all surrounding towns including Rhyll, Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Bangor, Caernarvon, Conwy, and Betws y Coed. We used the buses several times. A good way to see the area and no parking issues at destinations.

Basically highly recommended...it's not fancy but is clean warm well equipped and therefore relaxing. Would definitely use the Ship again if we choose the area another year.

“Excellent for a large family/groups, a real rough diamond!”

So The Ship Inn was exactly what we wanted, all you could possibly need for a large family. Plenty of fridge/freezer space, 2 dishwashers, well equipped kitchen, plenty of living space, games, books, Sky tv, pool & football table. There were 22 of us ranging from age 6 - 60 and you wouldn't know there were that many of us staying, the place is huge!. There was everything we needed, plenty to keep the youngsters entertained (it's a great hide n seek house!) a brilliant dorm room so they could all stay in the same room together and plenty of space for the grown ups in their rooms. We had a minor issue with plumbing but it didn't detract from our stay. The beach isn't too far away nor plenty of shops, cafe's etc. I'm going to call the Ship a rough diamond, it was like a real home from home, there was a bit of work to do here and there but when you have large groups staying, there will always be something that needs doing and especially with a property this size! It's what made us feel comfy, had we been in a 5 star hotel we'd have felt less inclined to let ourselves go, relax and have such good fun! Mum says it's a birthday she'll never forget and that the Ship & the location were perfect! Thanks Mark & Team!

“Made a work trip feel like a holiday!”
Reviewed December 17, 2014 for a stay in December 2014

We stayed at The Ship whilst filming a short film in North Wales and it was the perfect house for us all. Comfortable, clean and all the film buffs lost their minds when they found the cinema size projector screen! All of our group commented on how nice the beds were and what a good nights sleep they had. Kitchen easily catered for 24 people, and the pool table saw some serious pool-sharking over the week.
Mark was an excellent host and we had great communication with him throughout our stay. Absolutely would not hesitate in recommending this place, or staying there again!

Just come back from The Ship Inn after our pre-Christmas gathering total 27 people family and friends, this was the best accommodation we have booked ever, we had a great time, the house was warm, clean, bedrooms beautiful, plenty of bathrooms, lovely second floor landing to go and sit in and just relax, house decorated beautifully for Christmas, pool table and plenty of games, Kitchen wonderfully equiped. Super spot for getting out to the villages in the area, plenty of local amenities. this is an exceptional property perfect for gatherings for any occasion, well done Mark I can't give the house enough praise we had a ball!

“great place for a crowd, esp if needing piblic transport”
Reviewed November 21, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

The Old Ship is a great place for a crowd; it was obviously a pub till recently. The accommodation is exactly as described. There are 2 sitting areas: 1 large with screens and hifi equipment (which we did not know how to work - inadequate instructions); 1 cosier, and an area with a snooker table. The kitchen dining area is generous, with 2 dishwashers and 2 fridge-freezers; lots of table space. The cooking equipment was a bit basic.
The owner was helpful and prompt in repaying the security deposit.
The Old Ship is very convenient for those dependent on public transport, buses and trains. It also has its own car park.

“Best Fun we've had for years!”

We booked the Ship Inn to jointly celebrate 3 landmark birthdays in one year : 60th, 50th & 18th. Party of 29 with ages from 13 to 81.
The Ship was all we had hoped it would be, roomy, clean, all facilities we required, all of a high specification. Quality beds, showers, multi media systems, cooking facilities etc.
Nearby are a number of very friendly pubs, take-a-ways, cafés, a superb bakery, co-op, aldi etc. The local bus service is as good as I've experienced, so everyone can pop out along the coast and have a bite and a drink and it stops right outside.
Now the Ship Inn is not perfect, but it's one hell of a place to party.
We all loved it and although we had one or two minor issues they were all sorted out quickly and without fuss.
Our experience at the Ship Inn will be talked about fondly for many many years. Memories to cherish. Thanks to the management, cleaners and 'the locals' for making it such a special week.
