“Great place for a superb holiday in South East Sicily”
Reviewed April 14, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Lovely house, beautiful garden/land with lemon and orange trees, a pool, a BBQ area, 'Spillo' the well behaved dog (he really won our hearts), and so many things to do and see in the area. Corrado is the perfect host/landlord who told us about sites to see and restaurants to go to. The whole family really enjoyed the week. Great!
We booked the place after reading the good reviews, but we were still positively surprised. We hope to be back soon.

“Full of rustic charm”
Reviewed February 15, 2015 for a stay in September 2014

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in September, it is a fantastic location for a get-away-from-it-all holiday. Lovely pool if you want to relax there and beaches are a 10-15 minute drive away. Set in lemon groves, completely tranquil and rustic in the best way. Corrado the owner always happy to advise on the local area.

“Beautiful family vacation in October 2014”
Reviewed October 8, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We enjoyed two great weeks in the holiday home of Corrado. The house is located in a beautiful surrounding of lemon trees and we had a direct view to the sea. The house itself is just gorgeous, the rooms with the high ceiling are nicely furnished, you have everything you need. The kids liked especially to swim in the pool and to pet the dog "Spillo" and the 2 cats "Gray and Limone". And we - the parents - enjoyed to sit under the shady three, read a book and drink a glass of sizilien wine. It's a great holiday home for families. The next beaches are only a view minutes away by car. We visited mostly the beach in "Fontane Bianche". The Shopping Center in Avola is near by. We recommend this great holiday home to everyone. Mille grazie Corrado for all the helpful Infos concerning Shopping, beaches, Restaurant, etc. We really appreciated.

“Just Beautiful”

We booked the villa last year, before the pool was built. It was always a dream of mine to visit sicily, and when we found this villa and saw all the pictures it seemed like the perfect place. It was more beautiful in reality! The villa is stunning, and the pool has made it a dream place to stay. There is so much outside space it was amazing. The outside shower was a delight, we didn't use the inside ones at all. We spent a lot of time in beautiful Noto, and also visited Ragusa, Avola, Fontana Bianche and Mezzamame. It feels strange to fly to a country with the scantest of directions, but trust corrado. He met us just as he promised, even though our flight in was delayed and he had to leave his wife and daughter in a restaurant . He calls every day to feed the most gorgeous dog spilo, and the two cats Grace and Lemon ( you can tell which one is Lemon by his colour! ) Corrado is always there if you need him, even came out very late one evening to change the gas. Do take his recommendations seriously, we wish we could have got round them all but we only had one week. The restaurant in Noto was great, and mezzamame was stunning. He is lovely, the villa was perfect and sicily lived up to all my dreams. We will go back there one day, no doubt. Kisses from England corrado! Amanda, Stefan, Carly Leah and Logan. Xxx

“Peaceful cottage in scented lemon grove”
Reviewed April 25, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We had a great few days here - in the countryside but within easy reach of the motorway and close to Syracuse, Avola and the beautiful Noto. The cottage is clean and well appointed with a lovely pool and outdoor space. The owner is very helpful with suggestions on places to visit.

“The Perfect Relaxing Family Getaway”
Reviewed April 13, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

My husband and I stayed in this wonderful home with our almost 2 year old daughter for 6 nights and had one of the best family and vacation experiences. This beautiful house--called Elanbeco--was absolutely perfect and exceeded our expectations. Even after reading all the excellent reviews, we were amazed at home much better this was than we imagined.

The setting for this house is absolutely gorgeous--definitely charming, though I feel that word doesn't quite do it justice. It is nestled back off a long dirt road (don't worry Corrado will help you find it no problem) amongst a vibrant lemon grove. I tried to count the number of lemon and orange trees and stopped at 100 (there are more). It is private and secluded, yet in just about 10 minutes by car you can be in the heart of Avola, with grocery stores, shops, churches, etc. There is abundant outdoor space, with a huge patio with sunny areas and shaded areas, an outdoor dining area and even a separate pizza oven and grill area--all of we which enjoyed using. There are plenty of tables and chairs, so you can eat wherever you want on the patio. We would often move them around depending on the view and amount of sun we wanted. The views are spectacular--both mountains and the sea. You can even see the city of Siracusa off in the distance. While we were there, an in-ground pool adjacent to the house was being finished up (it was too cold to swim so anyway). I can imagine this will be an incredibly popular feature when the weather gets warmer. We loved having so much livable outdoor space and spent a great majority of our time on the patio and garden area. Be sure to go out on the patio at night and see the stars--the views are so amazing, we could clearly make out some constellations and even see some planets with our naked eyes.

The house itself is so beautfiul and unique, maintaining it's authenticity and charm with the older features such as the wooden beam ceiling and gorgeous wooden doors and windows. The high ceilings help make this home feel very spacious and airy. It is a tad rustic--no microwave or electric coffee maker--but we found that we enjoyed learning to do things the "old fashioned" way. The kitchen has everything available to you that you need to prepare delicious meals--including spices, oil, vinegar and all the cutlery and cookery you could need. There was even a panini press, which we put to good use. The house was very clean and well stocked with essentials you forget about but find necessary in a home (aluminum foil, cling wrap, soaps, laundry detergent, etc) all of which are available for your use. Also, the wi-fi was very strong--we experienced no problems with it. We felt so relaxed and truly at home here.

The 2 bedrooms are huge, with plenty of comfortable beds and storage space, so you can feel organized. The bathrooms were also quite spacious. While there wasn't a tub, the farmhouse style sink in one of the bathrooms was large enough to bathe our daughter in. But our favorite shower was the one outside. Even though it was cool outside, we loved the refereshing feeling of showering in this beautiful tiled area amid looking up at the sky and the lemon trees.

No review of this house and property would be complete without mentioning the owner, Corrado. He is such an incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming host. He truly wants you to be happy in his home and will do his absolute best to make sure you are. Our family fell in love with him and our daughter would get so excited to see him and say she wanted to "kiss Corrado" when he came and left. He felt like long-lost family! While he is not on site, Corrado makes himself available to you 24/7 and promptly responds to any calls or questions. His English is great (which isn't that common in Sicily as it is in other parts of Italy) and he was very kind and patient in trying to help me with my Italian. Corrado gave us a tour around the area, so we would know where to find all the essential shops and he even showed us a nearby beach, which was one of the most beautiful ones we've seen--so clean and clear turquoise water and hardly anyone there-- where we spent much time. His restaurant suggestion turned out to be our best meal in Sicily! We are also appreciative that Corrado let us come a day early when our other plans changed.

Another tip/ suggestion: You are going to need a car for this stay--I cannot imagine being here without one.

As for location--we found it to be perfect. Siracusa and Ortigia were only about a 25 minute drive away--buit that was taking the scenic route and the town of Noto is about 20 minutes in the other direction. For us, it was totally worth being able to stay in this lovely "suburb" of Avola and enjoying the peace, tranquility and beauty while being so close to the city of Siracusa.

We truly enjoyed our time at Elanbeco and found it to be the perfect relaxing getaway for our family. We are so incredibly grateful to Corrado for his hospitality and making this such a memorable experience for us. Grazie mille, Corrado!! We hope to come back again--for even longer next time!

“A perfect Sicilian hideaway!”
Reviewed November 26, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We had a wonderful stay here and even in late October the weather was perfect and swimming in the sea was lovely. The farmhouse is excellent as are the surroundings - wonderful aromas of lemons and jasmine! A great base for exploring eastern Sicily. Corrado himself is very helpful, pleasant, and interesting!
