Very close to car park, high on Cotswold scarp with great views over the Severn valley. Remains of neolithic tomb from which 13 skeletons have been recovered in the past. Lovely walk around iron age hill fort about 1 mile down the road (roadside parking space).
A lovely area high above the towns/villages and a great place for walking. Not a lot of the Long Barrow left but notice boards dotted around with information.
Better take a trip just down road to Uley Long Barrow (Hetty Pegler's Tump), you can crawl in, but take a torch!
What a piece of history. No there’s not much to see but the board that is there gives you an idea what it would have been like. It’s right next to a car park, which is free. Well worth the effort to see it.
We met two men who were sharing our view and had a cheerful conversation with them. The view is fantastic. Good car park, especially for blue badge holders.
We were expecting some sort of complex. What we saw was pretty much a pile of stones tucked away into the hill. The area is fantastic for a picnic, and awesome views from Coaley Peak though.
