Myself and my tour group spent three happy nights staying at this tranquil location sited just over 4km from the Mukki Gate at Kanha. After making the 7 hour journey from Nagpur we were made very welcome by a very attentive group of staff. The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed. The food was excellent. The overall standards of service were superb and amongst the best I have encountered whilst operating wildlife tours across the whole of India over the past 12 years. The emphasis on the eco-friendly aspects of the offering was also very pleasing.

We stayed here for 2 days and it was a really memorable experience. The staff was extremely courteous, the rooms were clean, spacious and well-furnished. The food was amazing. There is no menu to order from and they serve you breakfast lunch and dinner. Each and every meal was sumptuous. We especially loved the panneer.

Apart from the food and accommodation, even the safaris were very well organized. The 4-wheel drive jeep starts from the resort itself, and since all the paper work was done beforehand, we just drove through the gate into the park. A very well packed and tasty breakfast was also arranged for the safari.

Overall, the stay was completely hassle-free and comfortable. We left there with very little or no complaints and I highly recommend this place to stay if anyone wants to visit Kanha.

Room Tip: If you're taking more than one room, I suggest you take them in one of those 4 suites in 1 build...

Our family stayed at Chitvan Jungle Lodge from 22nd to 25th October. It was a most memorable stay and safari experience for the entire family. Having enjoyed a nice stay couple of years back at the Tiger Den at Bandhavgarh, which is managed by the same management, we were expecting a good experience at Chitvan. However, the Chitvan experience was top notch and vastry superior to the Tiger Den stay.
The Lodge arranged for our pickup from Gondiya station. The ride to Lodge took around 3.5 hours and was pleasant. The vehicle was comfortable. At the Lodge we were given a warm welcome on our arrival by the General Manager Mr Ashvini and his staff. We were directly ushered in to our suite.
The suite was grand and very comfortable. It had a living room which had sofas, settee, easy chair and writing desk. The bed room had comfortable beds and lounge chair. The bathroom was huge with a bath tub and seperate shower area. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely appointed with pleasant color scheme, furniture, tapestry and linen. Wildlife photographs shot by Mr Sharad Vats adorned the walls. The rooms had huge picture windows which opened out into the vast fields and grasslands. Adjacent to the suite is the private terrace where one could sit and enjoy the country side and the grasslands. The buildings at Chitvan are located far apart from each other and are not normally visible from ones suite. The place is ideally suited for solitude, calm and relaxation.

The property itself is spread over 16 acres and has very few buildings which are also mostly hidden from view. One just gets to see the nature in all its glory. There is a water body where we found a few ducks. A number of fruit trees are present on the property. The Lodge grows its own organic vegetable on the property itself. In fact Mr Ashvini had plucked a Custard Apple for us from one of the trees which was most delicious. Kids also had a splash in the swimming pool.

The food was simply awesome. The young chef Mr Ashish met us and understood the food preferences of our family and then delighted us with his meals and preparations. Generally, the food consisted of a soup, bread basket, salad, dal, two green vegetables, one panir dish, one non vegetarian dish, chapatis and rice followed by desserts. The dishes were fresh, cooked with very little oil and the meals were balanced. Kids specially freaked out on jalebis and muffins. The service was exceptional and the team went out of their way to meet our demands. On our last day of stay they had set up grills in the evening. That day we went out to the haat(local market) and got us some Rohu fish. Mr Ashish happily grilled those for us !!! During safaris the Lodge packed picnic breakfasy for us comprising of samosas, eggs, sandwiches, muffins, coffee, tea which we had inside the jungle.

Kanha forest is pretty and splendid. We took three safaris. The lodge provided us with the blankets for the morning safari as it was pretty cold. On our first safari we sighted a tiger and had a good clear view of it for around 10 minutes!!! My daughter spotted a leopard but it scampered inside the bushes on seeing us. On the subsequent safaris we could not spot tiger or any other wild cat but had good sightings of other amazing wildlife in the park. Post monsoons the park itself was very lush and pretty. After the safari, at the Lodge we were given wet towels and refreshments.

We had a memorable safari holiday at Chitvan Lodge. Credit is due to Mr Ashvini who works very hard and has nurtured and trained an efficeint team which mainly comprises of locals. The property is vast, pretty and close to nature, the suites are top notch, food is excellent, service is impeccable and the safari experince was very good. While we were departing the staff lined up and waved us good bye.

Would strongly recommend Kanha and Chitvan Lodge.

Not to diminish the beauty of Kanha National Park but the proximity and caring staff of this lodge make it extremely special in my heart. The park is breathtakingly beautiful as were Pench and Bandhavgarh but the staff here went above and beyond. They have excellent drivers which is paramount and the rooms are lovely. But beyond that was their interest in our stay- they truly cared. We were here early in Nov. which meant the undergrowth is still quite lush and while gorgeous for pictures, makes it a little harder to find the elusive cat. They often see you when you won't see them, but we loved our time here. There were others who had better luck and the kind staff offered to share some photos via email with us since we'd missed seeing them. We had the time of our lives.

Been to kanha just after diwali for a short break. Kanha is only 4hrs drive from my place and my love for nature and wildlife has made me a regular visitor to this place.Usually i stay at khatia which has lot many staying options from budget to luxury and is very near kisli gate entrance of the park. This time i decided to stay near mukki entrance gate where now a lot of luxury and good properties have come up.My friends recommended me so i booked prithvi suite at chitvan jungle lodge. Its a small luxury resort with all modern amenities like a clean swimming pool, spa, indoor and outdoor activities for children. The entire resort is built around concept of main elements of nature i.e air, water, fire and earth.Hats off to the concept and every employee of this resort for preserving nature and maintaining near perfect ecological balance. Wonder, the resort has its own organic farm and a dairy to serve you fresh food. The suite rooms are very spacious and very well done. The staff is very courteous and helpful, excellent and personalized service.Overall a blissful experience.

Room Tip: If your budget allows the suite rooms are the best option.

Can do with some more variety in food served and start with buffet system so as to save time and energy of guests and staff respectively. overall wonderful experience. Nice work Mr. Vats. We had a memorable morning safari also.

We've stayed for 3 days at Chitvan Jungle Lodge. The stay was really nice and so are the staff, in the end we were almost sorry to leave.

Upon arriving we found ourselves greeted with wet towels, lemonade and a host of smiles from the very first person we met - Ashvini. He explained everything that we needed to know and it seemed like his sole intent was to have us feel at home, out of home.

Entering the room, it was spellbinding - spacious, clean and warm. The bathroom alone, especially the one with the Open Air Shower is probably bigger than most matchbox size apartments in the city.

The bed was one thing that if I could take him home, I would have done. Firm in the right places and comfortable enough for a sleep fit for royalty

Very scrumptious and varied 3 course meals coupled with exemplary serving set the mood for a wonderful mealtime. Fresh grown vegetables made some delicious fares. You'd probably find the best scrambled eggs here. With each meal I became more spoiled.

For the Jungle Safaris, we were seen off with a wholesome picnic and very knowledgeable guides.

These are the things that made me enjoy my stay at this hotel, but my warmest congratulations to the Hotel for their choice of personnel. They know how to really make you feel at home, and if you need anything it is like asking a family member.

Congratulations from the heart, you were fantastic.
