“Best service i have experienced anywhere”

found this gem after finding no accomodation at 7 other places at late notice, from the very start all staff provided warm welcoming service. Our friend busted his knee on the first day , and the staff went out of their way to help with hospital, getting round and making his unfortunate situation comfortable. Best service I have experienced in any hotel !!

Stayed with a friend in January 2011 for just over a week. This is a smallish mid range hotel that offers great service and large rooms.

Hakuba is a relatively small place but its areas of interest eg restaurants, bars, shops, hotels etc are split into smaller areas - Echoland, Happo, Wadono, Goyru. If you were to look at the map of Hakuba, the Panorama is very centrally located and is 300m to the nearest ski lifts.

Our room was large by Japanese standards, was essentially western but had an adjoining level with Tatami mat with table and chairs. There was a small ensuite bathroom with bath and overhead shower. The best aspect of the room was spectacular views of the mountains. The worst aspect was the lack of hanging space for clothes. Also their standard pillows are uncomfotable...its as if the are filled with jelly beans. They do have normal ones at reception, so just ask for one.

Hotel offers free laundry machines, free internet and the use of their drying room for ski/snowboard equipment. There is a spa for guests and public to use for a fee.

The staff here are amazing. They bend over backwards to help. They are super friendly and they also offer to shuttle the guests to restaurants, shops and ski lifts. Upon leaving the hotel, each staff member ensured they came out the front of the hotel to say goodbye and shake my hand...great personal service.

Very enjoyable stay

Our family (2 adults and 2 children, 7 & 9) spent 6 nights at the Hakuba Panorama Hotel as part of 16 nights in Japan and 7 nights in Phuket to start the New Year. The Panorama and Hakuba were the highlight of our stay. Awesome snow and great skiing each day was made even better by the great staff and friendly relaxed atmosphere at the Panorama.
We stayed in a 4 bed room, which was huge by Japanese standards and certainly big enough for our family and all our luggage. The esuite bathroom is small, but not too small, and we encountered smaller whilst in Japan.
The Hotel is in a good location,1 or 2 blocks from the Happo village area (restaurants, shops etc). The Hotel runs a bus to Happo One, shuttle buses to 3 of the ski fields stop at the front door, and it is just 2 blocks from the Happo Information Centre, where you can get buses to the ski resorts that don't go from the front door. (Hakuba has a great shuttle bus system that runs all day and into the night to get to restaurants or bars.)
The breakfast buffet was very good, and so was dinner, which was great, because as a family we were happy to just stay in 4 of the 6 nights that we were there. (The kids in particular loved the nightly set menu.)
The best thing about the Hakuba Panorama is the friendly staff, always offering to help, eg booking a restaurant and the nearby Japanese drumming show, taking us to the nearest ski rental shops after we arrived, enquiring each morning about where we wanted to ski (& offering us a lift in lieu of the Hakuba shuttle bus) or just sharing a laugh or a story with us and/or the kids at dinner time.

I stayed at the Hakuba Panorama Hotel for 7 nights over the Christmas holiday period. Although the hotel is quiet in its demeanor, it turned out to be quite a little gem of a find. Every single one of the hotel staff were supremely attentive and always went out of their way to assist with any queries we had with service always offered with a smile.

We were 8 adults travelling together - 2 rooms with 4 adults in each, the rooms were comfortable and although the bathroom was a little on the small side for 4 females, we survived and it did not dent our glowing experience at the hotel. The in-hotel onsen was great after a long day on the slopes.

The staff were always on hand with restaurant recommendations and all turned out fantastic. We walked back to the hotel on most night outs - from Wadano or Echoland. Nice stroll back to the hotel, passing a convenience store on the way in case we needed supplies. They were very helpful in making restaurant reservations as well as tour bookings.

There is a computer terminal with good access to the internet if necessary. Breakfast was great and just what we needed before heading out for the day.

Post trip, we all concurred that the staff of this hotel made the trip much more enjoyable for us and we look forward to heading back there - would absolutely recommend this to anyone visiting Hakuba and wanting something cosy and friendly, where the staff will take care to cater to your needs.

This is a really great place to stay in Hakuba. It is a short walk to the lifts at Happo One, and is fairly centrally located as far as the town is concerned. The rooms are big and warm and importantly the hot water is very reliable. There is also a private onsen within the hotel that you can book through reception. Our room had great views and there is wifi throughout the hotel. The biggest advantage of staying here was the service. The staff fall over themselves to help you and were constantly driving us to restaurants, ski lifts, supermarket, etc. The hotel is just around the corner from the information centre so a great location for the night shuttle if you prefer not to use taxis. We really loved our time at Hakuba Panorama.
