We stayed in the Forrest house at the end of Dec 14 early January 15 with friends. Absolutely loved the location. Neil is very helpful and gave us good tips as to restaurants around and where to get and hire ski equipment. The house is very comfortable and roomy. The kitchen is well equipped. It is as easy walk to the ski lifts and restaurants. It would be a great locations for any time of the year. Would love to be able to return again.

Lovely, stylish Japanese-inspired decor with all the mod cons. This place has been renovated recently and was quite luxurious for a holiday rental. The kitchen was impressive and large and there was plenty of room for four of us. It was a big change to the Japanese-owned places we have stayed in in the past, which were always very small and shabby. The house is located in a forest, as the name would suggest and it is a few minutes walk to the shuttle bus and a few good restaurants and bars, such as the Japanese place, Jyakenpon and an Australian-owned place, Bike Bar, which has great pizzas and live music.

My main criteria for judging a place that I stay in are the impression as I step through the front door and how well I sleep at night. I was hoping to get a good night's sleep considering the house is in the middle of a mountain forest, but the comfort and warmth of the beds were a bonus. The initial impression was of luxury with the interiors beautifully and tastefully renovated. I also need modern conveniences such as a functional kitchen to prepare at least some of the meals during our stay, so I was pleased with the quality of the appliances in the kitchen. I found it was convenient to walk to the ski lifts although the weather and conditions were perfect for walking while I was there. It was a brief three day stay, but I hope to return more often, and would not consider staying anywhere else.
