We are supposed to be booked from 14th to 18th dec 2015 for a winter ski stay at chalet la neige. Ms Hisako have been very kind to call one week ahead to cancel e stay as there is no snow and having travelled so far that we should cancel e booking. However, as e whole Japanese alps and ski slopes in Europe are literal disasters this season, we decided to stay from 16th to 18th Dec. It had to be e best winter Christmas with snow showers at night. The host Ms Hisako and family's impeccable service from lighting up e wood fire place, Japanese style hot bath, French course dinners including prime cut steak, ise lobsters, king crabs, homemade soup all served HOT and good quality Japanese wine bottled specially for chalet la neige. It is just next to Hodaigi ski slope with dramatic views. Quiet getaway and not too far from Tokyo via Shinkansen dropping off at Jomo-kogen.

It really is a ski in and out chalet. You walk out the door jump on your snowboard and board down to the lift. Its cheap to hire and the chalet helped us as soon as we got there.
Ski lift is also cheap. They spoke perfect English. Were very accomodating.
The dinner was amazing!!! 5 courses and everything is top restaurant quality which is just what you want after a long day of snowboarding. the rooms are bare but it doesnt matter as you are never in them.
They were kind enough to pick us up and take us to an onsen on our last day. They sent out pamphlets to help us get there as well. Two buses and a train from Tokyo but well worth the trip. There are a few different ski runs to play with and range from easy to very hard. Fresh powder every night. My boyfriend and I couldnt be happier.
Thank you Chalet La Neige!!!

This family run ski lodge is right on the slopes of Hodaigi Ski Field, literally ski in/ski out & offers great discounts on lift tickets. The food is absolutely delicious, breakfast is included in base rate & I recommend you stay in house for the 5 course French style set dinner - all homemade with local ingredients and very filling after a day on the slopes.
Go stay here before it gets too busy!
