My husband, mom, dad, sister and brother in law enjoyed a week away at the El-Les Loch Tigh cottage and it was bliss! The cottage was every bit as nice at the pictures. The cottage is newly renovated and feels modern and clean. Sleep quality was great - with 2 king size beds in 2 of the bedrooms. The appliances are all top of line and well worth the cost of the cottage!
The waterfront is beautiful. From the cottage you can hear the waves so it feels like a beach house! There are neighbours on both sides of the cottage but it felt very private and we never saw or heard our neighbours.
The only negatives are the slight smell of sewage on one side of the house which came into one of the bedrooms on the main level. It was slight and mainly only in the morning. It may not be a regular occurrence and seems to come as part of the territory of cottaging. Also - the sandy beach that is advertised as being a 5 minute walk away feels a bit more "marsh like" than sandy but with the beautiful waterfront there is no need for a sandy beach! Another additional minor inconvenience is the 3rd and 4th bedroom on the 2nd level; one wall is only a 3/4 wall so they are not sound/light proof making it a bit difficult if ones in those rooms would like to sleep in. We made it work.
It's definitely an adult cottage; especially with the open staircase in the cottage, but it is a beautiful "executive" style cottage that is worth the extra cost! The water activities ie. kayaking are great and biking on the surrounding roads is also very enjoyable.
We would like to thank the cottage owners for opening up their cottage for a beautiful stay and if we are ever looking for another cottage in the Sauble beach area we will certainly come back!!
