Imagine a small village 50 years ago but with modern amenities an idyllic location, quiet, and beautiful.
The Crown has it all, beautiful rooms, a nice restaurant and good beer and wines.
Staff were very accommodating and were there for your every need.
A walk round this village ancient village and exploring the church was lovely.

Room Tip: ask for a description of the various rooms on offer.

Had a lovely evening here with friends tonight. Been here many times and never had a bad meal. The scenery is beautiful, staff friendly and efficient; food delicious.
I started with the chicken and veg broth which was served with soft, fresh bread and followed it with the chicken and frites. I was unable to manage a dessert but this restaurant does the option of a small sweet choice with a hot drink, to end your meal. Brilliant to have the option of a small sweet taster without needing to order a full dessert

Went to a Golden Wedding lunch in the restaurant at the hotel.

The table was unfortunately next to the room used by patrons with dogs and during our meal the dogs started barking so my Brother in Law made comments to the staff but nothing was done other than closing the door to the room.

After the meal myself & my wife booked into the hotel for bed & breakfast.

The room was on the ground floor number 103 which was very comfortably but I felt that it could possibly not be secure as there is a window which can be assessed easily from outside.

Other than this the room was very good & well equiped even with an iron & ironing board.

Breakfast in the restaurant in the morning was good but the fried eggs were overdone with 'frilly edges'.

I would stay here again if I was in the area.

We booked a table for 2 for 7.30pm on a Wednesday since we were renting a house in the village. On arrival at the bar we were taken to our table by a young man but he wasn't particularly welcoming - no drinks were offered, no menu appeared. We waited for about 10 minutes and then asked a passing member of staff if we could have a menu. It eventually came but a wine one didn't so we had to go through that again.
The young man may well have been a trainee since he was hopeless though pleasant enough, but obviously NOT actually being trained. The food was good though we were not offered any bread, and water had to be requested. The restaurant was not particularly full or busy and we noticed that a single diner at a table near us asked for his main course to be taken away and replaced.
The food was good though not exceptional in any way and the services really was appallingly bad. All in all, this restaurant needs to buck up its ideas, try welcoming its income-bringers, and make sure that all its staff are competent too.

Room Tip: Know nothing about the hotel.

Excellent lively Gastro pub. Lovely food. Highly recommend. The starter was interesting - an artichoke creation, missed the mark a little bit. Rest of the meal was excellent, lovely smoked fishcake, crab salad. Recommend very highly. Dog-friendly.

Rooms are clean and well kept with all the facilities you need, including a kettle and selection of teas and coffee.
Bathrooms have good showers and thick, warm towels.
What impressed me most was the food, I had the pan fried calf's liver and I have to say it is probably one of the nicest meals I've ever eaten! Absolutely fantastic food. The breakfast is also pucker.
The setting outside is countryside and is perfect for a peaceful getaway with family or a partner.
Great service, great atmosphere, great food - certainly recommend it.
