We stayed for a week at Poplars Farmhouse in May. The Gardenia Room was clean and well cared for with a view of the lovely garden. The floors in this room are quite uneven (it is an old building!) and especially in the bathroom at night, this could be a challenge if you are at all unsteady on your feet. Our host David was attentive and helpful and very generous in supplying pots of tea and homemade cakes. Breakfast was good with a selection of options. Parking was adequate. The farmhouse is a 15 minute walk across the fields to Stoke-by-Nayland where there are two pubs that serve food. We very much enjoyed our time at the farmhouse. The only drawback is the access by car via a one lane farm track with little room for maneuver. If two vehicles meet, someone has to back up for a longer distance than I am comfortable with. Luckily we only met someone once and she backed up a relatively short distance (and did it about as badly as I might have done!) We did see another encounter where a car emerged from the woods in reverse followed by a small panel truck. The car driver opened his window and said “200 yards!” If this doesn’t daunt you, then Poplars Farmhouse is a great place to stay.

Everything about our 2-night stay at Poplars was simply perfect.
David & Paul made us especially welcome in a calm, professional and thoughtful way.
Our room and ensuite bathroom was large, spotlessly clean and had all the features we would hope for, and then some. Bed was extremely comfortable.
Breakfasts were sumptuous. I can personally recommend the oatmeal wraps for those with a hearty appetite in the morning(!)
Both upon our initial arrival and whenever we returned from a day's excursion we were offered drinks and cake...and the peaceful garden setting made an ideal spot to sit in the sunshine and relax over a cuppa.
When asked, David gave excellent, reliable advice on local eateries & places to visit etc.
We both felt we'd arrived as guests, and parted as friends.
Quite honestly, we couldn't recommend this B&B highly enough, and we will certainly look to return at some time.

Room Tip: As the setting is beautifully secluded, tucked away in a woodland setting well away from the hustle and bustle, any room must be good!

The poplars is nestled in the Suffolk countryside and is very comfortable. The rooms are very clean well equipped and the breakfast is the best you will ever find in any establishment. The hosts David and Paul will make sure your stay is pleasant.
This is a nice place to really chill out.

Just returned from a two night stay in the Gardenia room. Peaceful setting, David and Paul are wonderful hosts. The breakfasts are amazing. Can’t fault this B&B and will definitely return. Great place to stay if you are a dog owner and want lovely walks near the house. There are some lovely restaurants nearby, The Crown, The Angel, Le Talbooth.

The gardens are beautiful and nothing is too much trouble for the hosts. Congratulations to you both on making your home into such a welcoming place.

Poplars farmhouse is a lovely b&b situated in the countryside. The house is amazing as are the facilities. David, the owner is is an excellent host and nothing is too much trouble. The downstairs has a large well appointed dining room and also a large and beautifully furnished lounge. The gardens are extensive and well kept.
My bedroom, Gardina, was large and well furnished with a most comfortable double bed. The bathroom was modern and had a very good shower. All parts of the house were in excellent decorative order and immaculate.
Breakfast was delicious with an excellent and beautifully presented English breakfast. Fruit, toast with five different homemade jams were available and extremely good coffee.
There are two very good pubs near by, the Angel and the Crown both of a very high standard.
Although on business Poplars Farmhouse made feel as though I was on holiday.
Thank you for a lovely stay.
