Spent a delightful Easter afternoon at the Crown. The food was amazing, would definitely recommend for a great day out. Only a 5 minute walk from Framingham Castle with a great view over the market and surrounding buildings.

I would love to write a good review about this place but alas we were not allowed to enjoy our stay there. We had booked to stay on a Friday night, with dinner, looking forward to a football match in the Town on Saturday. Most of you will remember that the first Friday in March this year was a white out! We called on Tuesday morning to try and postpone. As we were not allowed to postpone (apparently we should have called by 10pm the previous evening (Monday). So we decided to stick with our plans and hope that the forecast of more snow would prove wrong. It didn't and we were not able to make our journey and therefore could not get to the Crown. Surprise, surprise the football match was postponed in Framlingham (due to the heavy snow) and we could not afford to rebook another night for the rearranged game (even if we had wanted to, which we didn't) . So I say this to any of you thinking of staying here- I hope that as guests who are actually able to get to the Inn and "cash in" on your booking, you are treated much more fairly and generously than we were!

Room Tip: Go somewhere else's!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Hotels have cancellation policies for a reason, you are made aware of this upon booking and unfortunately you were not within the timescales allowed. When you phoned you were quite abrupt with the duty manager you spoke to & you also stated that you may still come so your booking was held for you. This is why you have been charged and the terms and conditions of your booking explain this when you book the room, this is not hidden in the small print it is stated quite clearly directly underneath your booking details.
I have also read the comments you have posted on another website where you state that you 'hope we are struggling to survive' and subsequently rated our rooms, cleanliness, location, breakfast quality etc as one star, despite not coming here.
I think comments such as that are indicative to how you spoke to our duty manager on the phone and subsequently when faced with this attitude i'm afraid there is no flexibility on our part.
You are entitled to your opinion and can post these comments online but we also have the right to respond and explain the reasons behind your individual situation.

Went in to have a coffee with friends. Waiting staff were unwelcoming and downright rude. One waitress actually rolled her eyes when my friend asked for a coffee!! It was chilly - we kept our coats on - and although the waiter had told me the area we were sitting in was a ‘no dog’ area, some people came in to eat with 2 dogs which jumped up at their table and whined the whole time we were there. Very disappointing. The Crown used to be a warm and welcoming place
