Dudhwa is one of the finest Jungles with thick vegetation and well maintained park. We did two Jeep safaris. The morning safari showed us a single bull elephant followed by spotting other wild life. But the best part was reserved for the afternoon safari in Kishan Pur block where we were lucky to spot a fill grown tigress. We were able to see its movement for a good 15 minutes where it walked, sat and moved about in the jungle till it went to the watering hole.
Overall a very successful visit. Those wanting to go must plan in advance and be vary of bookings done through forest department as these may be changed at the last minute due to omnipresent VIP culture in the state.

The park is nice and the safari was good. Did not see the tiger but saw two rhinos.
Stayed in the UP Ecotourism hut. It was a bad experience considering that the tariff is 3 star. The cottages are new but falling apart. The management was very difficult to contact-very difficult to get their numbers. The whole attitude was sarkari.
Very difficult to get towels and soaps. The food was basic. There seems to be overstaffing with people just sitting around. The staff in the dining room were not clean. Govt. should get out of the hospitality business.
The interpretation centre is good but there should be ceiling fans.

We enjoyed an early morning safari in the tiger reserve, but were not lucky enough to spot any tigers. We had a wonderful elephant ride though, inside the reserve, and spotted some enormous rhinos. Perhaps the safari timings should be earlier in the morning - they leave after 7 which is probably too late to spot a tiger or bear.

The Dudhwa forest is amazing with its varied flora...the tall sal trees, the wide-leafed teak, bamboo and elephant grass. A drive into the forest early morning and at sunset is magical. You may not get to see the great cat, but small animals and avians are a-plenty.The water bodies teem with water birds, crocodiles and swamp deer.....
