We still dont understand how this hotel has so many good reviews. The service is poor and slow.

There is actually no one that really speaks english at this place and it is very difficult to communicate with the staff.

The breakfast is served between 8-10 am. Which I find very difficult to understand. The breakfast took almost 30 minutes to get from the moment we ordered. They did not have any "bread" left. How is that even possible? You have pay 20k extra to get the very basic like fried egg or omelette. The "included" options are very limited.

When we checked in. They forgot to give us the key and the guy left to bring the key and we waited for like 15 minutes and he did not show up. So I went back and he was doing something else. He had forgot that he had to give us the key...

The rooms are nice decorated and look good only in pictures. There is no hot shower and the water is salty! Seems like sea water.

The pool is so small that is like non existence!

There is no sound proof what so ever and you can hear everything from the next "Bungalow" it seems like they are in the same room. Which I find quiet disturbing also.

Only good thing about this place is the location( next to dream beach and devils tear)

If you dont care about the things explained. This might be the place for you otherwise. Do yourself favor and find a different hotel.

We spend there 3 nights based on good reviews and nice pictures on booking.com
First of all the good thing about the cottages. It does look like it on pictures. That's it. But if you look closer the pics are deceiving!

Bathroom is run down and toilet are not being cleaned properly! Only has salt water to shower as well as for tap water! Very sticky experience.

Rooms are too small for 2 people with 2 luggage. Bed also too small. Door didn't close properly and has to be secured by an external lock! Thin walls and you can hear everyone else in their cottage. Very rural neighborhood with roosters waking you up at dawn every day! Again thin walls didn't help! Pool is more like a bathtub and salty as well!

Staff and service are bad and they dont care about a good experience for their guests. Food is also a disaster. Even cannot get the national dish of Indonesia right! A simple Mie Goreng!!!

At the end you get what you pay for (60USD) per night, but the excellent ratings here still deceived us into thinking we go to a heavenly place.

My rating is clear that this place is a waste of money and time!

Pros
A hut vibe if you want that experience, clean, mosquito net, hammock, very close to dream beach and devils tear by walking. You can also walk to mushroom bay easily. Nice staff.

Cons
Dark room, noisy cockerel at random times throughout the night, can hear neighbors talking, small pool (not like pictures), breakfast food is ok.

If you need a pleasant base for exploring the island then this is fine.

Just 5 minutes walk from Dream beach, wonderful garden and small but nice swimming pool. The bungallows are very nice and they have outdoor bathrooms, you can have a shower under the starry sky! The food is great, the staff is nice, but their English is very weak. If you need, they arrange transfer to/from Bali with speed boat.

Cottages very close to each other so you can hear your neighbours snore or chat. Downside is also the breakfast (not much to choose from, local coffee very strong). Had it not been for the salty shower Kubu would qualify for four stars - I enjoyed my stay profoundly - but the fact you can't wash yourself properly downgrades it...which is a shame because otherwise the place is lovely, the garden, the pool area... They serve good food, well priced and very close to the beach.
