My husband and I stayed at Pondok Baruna Gardens whilst he dived with the associated World Diving and I chilled out. Enclosed around a small pool, laid back and great for relaxing. Staff friendly and always smiling. Rooms are very clean, A.C , in room safe, no fridge or T.V (if these matter to you) and good size. Wi Fi not strong in rooms, but o.k. in other areas. Breakfast was o.k. Choice of eggs, pancakes (banana was good), omelet, jaffle, juice or fruit, tea or coffee. No other meals served. Short walking distance to beach, many warungs and restaurants and main street.

This was my third stay here, as The Value, Location, and Staff are well-appreciated !
I also chose Pondok Baruna--SEAFRONT because I was diving with their associated partner: World-Diving Lembongan (separate review --perhaps see a Mola Mola if you come for diving in September !--timing is variable by Nature, of course !).
The Seafront rooms really do live up to,the name, as there's only a break-front seawall separating the rooms from the ocean !! It's easy to fall asleep with the sound of the surf, especially when the tide is high. The rooms are more 'worn' than the Pondok Baruna GARDEN --or FRANGIPANI rooms, yet all is in working order-- the AC is strong, the linens are clean, the towels are well-used, yet clean, the pillows are fluffy, the bed is COMFY !! Each SEAFRONT room has its own small patio w chairs, a 'ladder-rack' for clothes drying in the breeze, and a chaise lounge. The rooms are tidied daily, unless the Do Not Disturb hanger is showing on your door-handle.
A new addition is the cozy bar, which has a 'diver-friendly' closing time of 9pm.
The INCLUDED BREAKFAST is served from 7am at the GARDEN rooms, next to the pool : 2eggs any style, pancake, jaffle, or omelette--all served w jc or fruit plate, coffee or tea.
Whether coming to Nusa Lembongan for surf, snorkel, diving, or 'just because,' Pondok Baruna gives three levels of quality: the SEAFRONT rooms are the budget choice, with THE best view of the ocean !
I definitely recommend the stay here !
I almost forgot! The owner also has a restaurant with western and Indonesian fare: Pondok Baruna Warung, just less than a 5-minute walk, on the main road.

Room Tip: Next to Dive shop, #8 is good if need help waking up for diving. #5, next to early-closing bar is good if someone to talk with is needed : )

We stayed in the Garden Room which was very comfortable and had air-con. Beach front rooms are ok but have a very small bathroom and of course a great view. The pool is refreshing. Overall Great staff, clean rooms, good wi-fi, nice breakfast. Central location. I would happily stay here again.

I stayed here in May 2012. We booked this guesthouse to enjoy the snorkeling off of the island, which was GREAT. The guesthouse has a big pool and very modern, clean rooms. There is also a small cafe/bar next to the pool that we enjoyed.

My partner and I stayed for four nights in a sea view room. The room is basic with a comfy bed and the air con worked well. The view is amazing with uninterrupted views to the ocean and the dive shop a few steps away.

The only down side was the bathroom which is tiny and difficult to maneuver yourself on to the toilet. The shower also didn't have much water pressure and we didn't have hot water. For the price however and the enjoyment of being beach front it was a good find.

Breakfast was basic but good with four options. Staff were friendly and made us feel at home during our stay.
