We had a lovely four night stay at The Nethergate in October. The accommodation was perfect for our young family and the provision of the essential extras such as a travel cot, stair gate, high chair and buggy made packing for our break that little bit easier. The kitchen was well equipped so it was possible to cook everyday meals without any issues.
For our three year old son there were many toys and games for him to play with and he also loved watching the trains go by from his bedroom window! The trains passing are noticeable if you're listening out for them, but far from invasive.
Location was ideal, just a two minute walk from Kinghorn station with regular direct trains into Edinburgh (I was attending a conference at EICC for two days and could travel door to door within 45 minutes). We also used the train to travel to St. Andrews, via the bus from Leuchars.
Communications with Tahra before, during and after our stay was great, both by email and text message. Would certainly recommend as a base to explore the Fife coast and a trip or two into Edinburgh.
A very clean and well equipped property that is suited to familys of all ages including dogs. Its an ideal location for the Fife coastal walk with a beach literally minutes away and train station just as near to get into Edinburgh and such, all in all a home from home.
Tahra was very helpful with great communication from start to finish. We have never stayed in such a dog friendly rental and would thoroughly recommend.
A very welcoming cottage, well equipped and dog friendly. Lovely walks and a beach on the door step, lots to see and do. Good communication with Tahra and plenty information in the cottage for surrounding areas. Will return and would recommend.
Lovely and very spacious two-bedroom cottage in a peaceful area, just a stone's throw away from Kinghorn train station and the beaches. Immaculatr, very well equipped and comfy. Family with children and dog friendly place. Fife coastal path and the grey seals colony are walking distance and not to be missed, while Edinburgh is at about 40 minutes by train only. What else would you need for the prefect holiday?!I would definitely recommend Tahra's place!
Lovely, clean, well equipped house in lovely area with friendly owner. Lots to do and great dog friendly beaches, one only round the corner. A week wasn't long enough to fit in everything we wanted to do!
The house was characterful and comfortable, attractively furnished and welcoming for both people and dogs. I particularly liked the doggy biscuits and welcoming water bowl. Great location for exploring this part of Scotland and we enjoyed fantastic visits to Culross mediaeval town and Falkland Palace. Beaches everywhere (try the Silver Sands one at Aberdour). Owner Tahra was really helpful and friendly and everything went smoothly./ Unexpectedly blessed with sunshine, we sat outside drinking the complimentary wine and eating home-made scones whilst our boys were busy indoors and the dogs seriously patrolling the garden. Friendly neighbours and lots to do. Will definitely return.
Tahra as a great place in kinghorn, a very spacious apartment with small little side garden, her place is on the first floor, two bedrooms all nice and clean, lovely welcome with a doggie, very pet friendly place, if you have children too, lots of games toys etc provided....a one min walk to a small beach, and in july sometimes you can find yourself and your doggie have the beach to yourself, one mins walk to train station, this is a fab place to explore what fife can offer you, as kinghorn is very small with a few shops only so you do have to travel to get more out of your holiday , overall Tahra as a nice cosy place.
