Really good traditional food in a pleasant garden in this charming borgo. Sophisticated without pretensions. Friendly and generous service.

My SO and I ate here a couple of times during a stay at a nearby hotel.

The food here is local but with somewhat higher ambitions than your ordinary local ristorante. We tried different things, and weren't disappointed once.

This old tavern situated in the enchanting village of Novilara (approximately 10 minutes drive from Pesaro or from Fano) was recently (i.e. some 10 years ago !) turned into a charming restaurant, with cozy rustic rooms at the basement and fascinating decorated rooms at the first floor.
More recently (about a year ago) the restaurant reopened with a new crew, which reinvigorated it with a less traditional menu, larger portions and an extra care in the search of high quality products. The result is a great dining experience, paid a very reasonable price.

An amazing food experience, all food freshly prepared and made to order. The lightest pizza's you will find in Italy. Bruna and her team are very welcoming and nothing too much trouble. A must visit if ever you visit Pesaro-do not miss it if in the area.

Novilara is a tiny fortified hamlet high above Pesaro. You can walk right around the 'city' walls in 10 minutes. Tucked away down one of the ancient alleyways is the garden of la Ricci with about 8 tables. We had no idea there was a whole indoor restaurant in the building itself. The service by our kind and cheerful waitress was as if there were only the few of us outside. The meal was outstanding, starting unusually for us Brits with delicious local cheeses beautifully served with fruits and vegetables, followed by a shared pasta with delicate sauce of verdure and pistachio. Our main course was a magnificent hunk of steak prepared with rosemary, and duck, which was a little too salty for our taste. Grilled vegetables were perfect. We had no room for dolci but home made cantucci and squares of chocolate cake on the house, arrived with our bill. The local carafe of red wine was fine. The only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars, apart from the duck, was the size of the bill....at 93 euros for us two - what we'd expect in the uk but more than comparable meals in this region. Notwithstanding, we'd eat here again.
