Pancha Rathas is a group of five Rathas or Cars that had been sculpted out of rocks. It can be easily accessed by foot or car.

We were visiting the whole of Mahabalipuram, so Pancha Ratha was one among them. One must obtain the entry ticket for it. Again, one should have a cap (or any other head gear) to protect sunrays in the midday time. It's a great attraction with rock sculptures made by the chola dynasty kings, good to go around and click pictures.
There were some construction works going on while we visited this place. Hence it was bit inconvenient for us.

The history and legends about the Raths are conflicting. However they are awe-inspiring considering they are hewn from a hill. They are monolithic. Constructed top down. The clarity of vision and calculation of the artisans of old is worth seeing. However, they were left incomplete.
