The stone, situated at the large park, represents the geological phenomen of the place and it's surrounding. How the stone is connected at its bottom and not falling is a wonder..

A fantastic sight as the sun sets. A boulder perched on a slope. In 800AD a king decided it was going to slip and tried to make it safe with elephants. He failed and it still hasn't moved. Health and Safety Officers are not a new stupidity.

I dint find any interest or excitement visiting this place.
Maybe it'd be a surprise for those who follow Krishna or so or history. It's a rock sitting on a slope without rolling down. Heard people tried with external force to move but failed to move. So this is the catch for this place.
Too humid place.
every tourist place around is walkable if you can walk for 10mins.
Have fun.

Krishna's butterball is a wonder till date. A huge rock stands on a edge of cliff without any support. Must visit in Mahabalipuram.

We were told that Krishna's butter ball has been in that position for hundreds of years. Apparently people, Governments and other relevant external bodies have used numerous ways to move this iconic rock from its position. Alas! One is yet to be successful! Having said that, it is indeed a nature's mystery as to how the butter ball has been standing in that same awkward position for so many years.
