We found La Veletta at the end of a gravel track..beautiful restaurant with a lovely rustic feel inside..menu in english too which really helped us and a fabulous and funny waiter..senze glutine was no problem at all and I had a yummy gluten free pasta dish. My husband said his pizza was delicious too. Highly recommend for couples, families and big groups..delightful place...Grazie!..

Beautiful food and great location, not to many tourist here so the food is more typical of the area. Service is great and the food is reasonably priced.

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and surprisingly the place was deserted, considering the quality of the food. We'd heard good things and were hoping to sample some of their Pizzas, but unfortunately they don't fire up the wood-fired Pizza oven at lunchtime - understandable given we were the only ones there.

In the end we opted for 2 antipaste dishes and 2 primi courses, followed by dessert of homemade ice-cream. Both the antipaste dishes (seafood salad and mussels) were excellent. The primi was fantastic (plenty to be a main course without having a secondi. We had ravioli (excellent but very rich) and eel linguine (excellent again)). Be warned if you don't like garlic then this isn't the place for you, as the chef obviously does! All in, with half a litre of prosecco, water and bread we paid €60, so great value.

Whilst I've rated this restaurant as excellent, I'm doing so on the basis of comparison to those we have in the UK, I wouldn't however say it was the best that we experienced in Tuscany (but there are so many great ones to chose from).

The decor of the restaurant isn't fussy, but it's pleasant and the restaurant is set in a very quiet location by a fishing lake - watch out for the mosquitoes!

Even in torrential rain, it was a great find. Very unpretentious - good food, good wine and excellent service. Appies and portions are big! Must be beautiful on a hot, sunny day!

We stayed in the Vicopisano for 6 nights and had 2 dinners and 1 lunch here. Having a car is essential to get to the restaurant but the short drive out of town is certainly worth it. Having an English menu and a waiter that spoke English certainly helped. It was a warm, family atmosphere. The appetizer platter of assorted bruschetta was delicious as were the homemade pastas. The tiramisu was the best of our 17 days in Italy.
