We had a lovely stay at Muri Beachcomber. The staff were friendly and only too happy to help with any questions we had. We were given a free upgrade to a sea view and the view was amazing! I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Muri Beachcomber.

My partner and I stayed here following a week at Etu Moana on Aitutaki so the bar had been set pretty high in terms of expectations. Fortunately, Muri Beachcomber delivered and our 4 nights in the Garden Villa were nothing short of fantastic!

The villa is completely self-contained and offers the typical amenities. Everything was well maintained and catered for. The information booklet put together by the hotel was amongst the best I've ever seen, management had really gone out of their way to ensure guests knew everything there was to know about the property & Rarotonga!

Service was a bit light during our stay due to the New Year period, but that is to be expected. Nonetheless everything we needed was there and that's what mattered.

The highlight of our stay was definitely the level of consideration extended by the owners / management. Knowing our flight was not until 2am, they gave us 'late checkout'... usually this means midday so I thought it wouldn't be much use to us, but what it meant was 'right up until we got picked up by the transport organised by Muri Beachcomber'. I was shocked, and could not thank them enough!

Being right in the heart of Muri, you have access to everything you'd want to do on Rarotonga. From beaches, to restaurants, to tours & shows - most things were within a 5 minute walk from our doorstep :)

Overall, a fantastic stay - would recommend to anyone!

Like some previous reviewers, we didn't get great service as we arrived between Christmas and New Year. Office was closed quite a bit.
The resort is full of simple bungalows which were fitted out with all the basics. Bedroom tiny, so no where to leave your suitcase open.
A very basic breakfast was supplied in the fridge each day. 2 small pkts cereal ( no choices) and 4 slices of white bread and we don't usually eat that. A few spreads and some fruit juice and milk. That's it. No restaurant on site and not many good options within walking distance. Just take-away style food.
We paid extra for a Seaview room, and what it actually should have even called was a sea glimpse room. We were a long way back from the lagoon with lots of garden between us and the water. Even when we sat outside on the outdoor setting, you could only just see the water. Our friends and I felt a bit ripped off by this.
On the upside, the location on the lagoon is great and lots of free activities provided.

Great location close to shops, restaurants and many other resorts, also right next door to the night markets - excellent food to eat. Free use of kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel gear is awesome for day trips around the lagoon. Complimentary bicycles are great to use for cheap travel. Amazing friendly staff who are more then happy to help with anything you need. Definitely will stay here again!

Room Tip: Garden view rooms are quieter but Seaview rooms are excellent for quick access to the beach, you will get use to the sounds of the water.

Location: excellent
Grounds & ambiance: excellent
Facilities & amenities: good
Rooms: good
Cleanliness & hygiene: very good
Staff: good (only held back by availability)

Would be a comfortable 4-star, but, it didn't quite measure up for reasons I attribute to our visit being over the xmas & new year period.

The accommodation has easy access to Muri Beach and provides two private balconies where guests can relax while gazing across the lagoon.

Snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle boarding is available free of charge.

Otherwise you are spoilt for choice with regard to the available activities in the area. These include: sailing; wind- or kite-surfing; lagoon cruises; scuba-diving; quad bike, buggy, or bicycle tours; night markets.

Guests can also relax in the garden areas on the grounds or by the swimming pool. There is enough space for family activities, sunbathing, and bbqs outside each unit.

The rooms have everything you need to cater for yourself. The shower is very good and the kitchen area suitable for preparing basic meals.
Bedroom are basic but comfortable. There is no television in the room.

For a rainy day, or otherwise entertaining the kids, there is a guest lounge by the main office with tv, board games etc.

Laundry services are available on site. 3x Nz dollar coins.

During our stay the office hours were very inconvenient, appearing closed for the majority of the time. As a result the level of customer service felt lacking. The cleaning & grounds staff were great.

I would also encourage a reduction in the number of rosters in the area.
