A really lovely week away based at Doxford Farm Cottages. I can thoroughly recommend it based on fantastic value for money (we stayed the week after half term), set in an area of peace and tranquility which is sadly virtually unobtainable in this country nowadays. The walks around the farm are beautiful, on the first day we saw deer, foxes and hares, and a pair of very friendly farm collies as guides. The facilities in the cottage and complex are everything required to make life easy while still maintaining the rustic charm of the farm. The owners were present and easy to contact if required but very unintrusive. A great spot to explore Northumberland from. As a Cornishman who loves his home and couldn't live anywhere else, this place almost makes me change my mind. Many thanks for the lovely stay.

This was our eighth or could be ninth visit to the farm, we never tire of the place! As soon as we turn off the a1 we feel like we are as far away as possible from the ups and downs of daily life at home. We have stayed at stewards cottage for the last 3 holidays as we like having the aga and the extra space,it is well furnished, has everything we could need for our stay, comfy beds and a good shower. The shell family are welcoming and are around if you need advice etc but are happy to leave you to your own devices. We have 2 teenage sons who love staying here for different reasons, the youngest spends his time on the farm whilst the eldest is studying photography and finds that the many walks around the farm provides him with numerous opportunities for wildlife shots. We were lucky to have a dry if chilly week and spent many hours walking, good job as we needed to burn off the Aga breakfasts! We made visits Lindisfarne, Hulne park in Alnwick, the farne Islands, , berwick, the Cheviots, low Newton and Embleton stopping at the ship inn and the many beaches with the dog. We recommend lewis fish and chips in Seahouses and Mivesi for Indian takeaway in Alnwick. We are already planning our next holiday at Doxford.

We first stayed at Doxford Farm Cottages in 2011 when we enjoyed a fantastic week in July. This year we returned in September. The accommodation was as good as it was the last time. Spotlessly clean and well stocked with all you will need for your week away. The cottages are on a working farm so you never feel like you are in a commercialised holiday resort. We were surrounded by wildlife as well as the farm animals. While we were out on a walk around the farm one day we saw a buzzard, a red squirrel and 2 roe deer! Not bad for one day. Sarah and her family are very welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble from first booking to when we left. I would highly recommend Doxford Farm Cottages to anyone looking to stay in this area of the country.

Brilliant place to stay on our first holiday with a dog. East End Cottage is very cosy and warm and well appointed. The location of the farm is excellent for reaching both the beautiful coast and countryside that makes Northumberland special. Lots of dog friendly pubs and cafes to sample as well. Would certainly recommend it and we plan to go back

We just spend a week in the Northside Cottage and had a wonderful time.

The cottage is well equipped and travelling with kids, we especially loved having the private garden (and the kids loved the horses and sheep). The location is beautiful (what a great walk through the fields) for different daytrips.

The cottages have everything you need. would defiantly stay here again.

Room Tip: Norhside Cottage with the private garden was the perfect choice for us.
