Great location to explore the island. The cottage and the grounds are well- kept. If less active, it is a perfect spot for a relaxing retreat on the shores of Lake Huron.
The Little Nuthatch Cottage was a great find! The cottage is gorgeous inside and out. The bedroom is huge with a very nice seating area which is great for reading. The property is extremely well kept with very attractive gardens and landscape features. Having a comfortable living room and fully functional kitchen made it very easy to feel at home while staying here. The crown jewel for us was the ability to sit down by the water and just dissolve any stresses away. Jon and Lee are very friendly and nice people and they have created a great getaway spot. We look forward to our next visit here!
This cottage (more like a home) is on the shores of Manitoulin Island. In the morning the only sound is that of birds singing. One morning when it rained, there was the soothing sound of rain on a steel roof. The beds are comfortable, and I like that there’s an en suite bathroom. There are comfortable seating areas in the huge bedroom as well as in the living room, so everyone can spread out if they like. The kitchen is fully equipped. The grounds are landscaped beautifully, with a nice variety of flowers and a well thought out placement of the rocks (some very unique) rocks of Manitoulin. Within a 5 minute drive in Kagawong, there’s a well known chocolate shop that serves good coffee, a gallery in an historic building with a great variety of art and some clothing, an antique shop, and for the kids a candy shop, and a playground on the sand beach. This is a beautiful island and a beautiful place to stay. Would highly recommend it.
