Firstly, this review comes a year too late, so apologies to Miquel for not doing this after our fabulous wedding in Jun 2014!

Wow, is all I can say, and the 20 people I flew to Lisbon to celebrate with us are still talking about what a beautiful villa this place is.

We chose to take 20 close friends and family to our destination wedding, and what a wedding it was! Miquel organised everything so perfectly (with the help of fantastic wedding planner in Lisbon) and it was just idyllic.

The villa is absolutely stunning, high quality and classy, set in beautiful and large grounds with a fantastic pool area and pool house. We got married here and then hung out round the pool and partied in the pool house. This place has to be seen to be believed and we will definitely be back next year (2016) for a family holiday.

Miquel hosts lots of parties here, but ours was the first wedding, and he far exceeded our expectations. He even made the sun shine brightly all day. He organised caterers, wine waiters and good WiFi for our music - I can honestly say it couldn't have gone smoother.

Our guests made good use of the pool table, tennis courts and bikes, too, and if you enjoy walking and you love wild rugged Atlantic beaches, you have all of this on your doorstep.

Anyone lucky enough to stay here will have fantastic memories for ever!

Long live Solar do Magoito, and thanks again Miquel.

Jo & Joe xx

What an amazing property! It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The layout gave the 11 of us plenty of places to be together, but also enabled everyone to have some quiet time in couples or family groups. We particularly loved eating in the sun room by the pool, either in the warm with the doors open or with a roaring fire when it was colder! The kids loved the freedom of being able to roam around the grounds, while we enjoyed the knowledge that the site was secure and that there was plenty to keep everyone occupied. The fact that the property is also close to the sea and near Sintra is just an added bonus. Thoroughly recommended for family groups of all ages.

Manuel is a perfect host - very helpful, funny, attentive but not at all intrusive. He did all he could to make our stay, a special one. Thank you Manuel.

We were three families, with five children in their early twenties. Surpassed all expectations. Believe every word of the glowing recommendations. bedrooms in the old winery are superbly modern, elsewhere original , ornate tiling and other attractive features make other bedrooms in the main house very special indeed. Manuel and his family are delightful, offering helpful information when we met, but did not intrude on the holiday at all. Thank you Manuel. We were all sad to leave and would all like to return.

We stayed 8 nights at this beautiful property. We were a group of extended family from both US and Europe, including young kids, young adults and middle aged folks. We rented the entire property (main house plus two guest houses) and made our communal space at the pool house. The gardens and pool were so lovely, it was hard to tear ourselves away to do sight-seeing and beach time, but so glad we did. Sintra, which is about a 20 minute drive, was fantastic to visit. Our favorite beach ended up being the local beach just down the road. The kids spent hours enjoying the tide pools there. They also spent hours playing around the pool, the playground area, and tennis courts. The main house and cottages are the perfect blend of old charm and new, modern upgrades. Everything was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We absolutely loved the lay out and exploring each of the rooms in the estate. I can't emphasis enough how cool the blend of old and new is. Manuel and his staff were so friendly and helpful, but really let us keep to ourselves. I highly recommend this property and this area of Portugal for a visit.

We planned a late summer holiday and got the house at the last minute and what a gem!! With 3 kids, 9, 11 and 15 there was plenty for the kids to do: swimming, tennis, table tennis, games room, surfing nearby, cycling the list goes on. The house is amazing and the location was great with convenience stores near by and cascais about 30 mins away by car.
The owner Manuel, and Maria showed a hospitality was quite extraordinary.
We had one of the best holidays here and will definately be coming back.
