We stayed in a pool villa with a walkway out to the sea. It was a great room with some nice touches, although we did deal with ants in the room.

Staff offers typical great Thai service. The breakfast is unbelievably good; one of the highest quality breakfasts we've ever had anywhere. Service staff at pool is super.

The issue we had is that the hotel doesn't pick up the rubbish that the tide brings onto the beach areas around the pool villas each day. The beach in front of the lobby is impeccable (although the water is not close to crystal clear), but I do not recommend the pool villas. We wore swim shoes around the villa area because we saw broken glass, rusty metal, and, most concerning, hypodermic needles. It was no bueno.

We've stayed at five 5-star properties in different parts of Samui. If your idea of an idyllic beach vacation involves crystal clear water and white sand, try the Phi Phi Islands, Trat Islands, or Koh Samet. Harder to get to, but Samui is overdeveloped at this point. The beaches are not doing well.

Dear yanyan2605,

Thank you for writing with so many positive points to make. As you note, we are on a small island and it is a sad truth that the tide brings in a shocking amount of marine pollution; a world-wide problem at the moment. We have full-time gardeners clearing the beach and the hotel grounds daily, supported by other staff when they are not busy with guests. We offer our heartfelt apologies for any disappointment but the matter is unfortunately largely out of our hands. We will, however, pass on your compliments to our team for their attentions to you.

Cape and Kantary Hotels supports SOS Children’s Villages and the TSPCA. We do not serve foie gras, birds’ nest or shark’s fin and we stand firmly against the exploitation of Thai elephants for commerce or entertainment.

Sincerely yours,
Cape Fahn Hotel, Koh Samui Management

The first thing that stands out about Cape Fahn is the beautiful secluded location that balances style and opulence masterfully. This venue looks beautiful both day and night and the rooms are luxurious yet humble at the same time (a rare feat that is hard to achieve.)

My stay was unfortunately short yet extremely memorable due primarily to the staff, quality of food and beverage, and the general ambiance of being in a location with panoramic views of endless blue and pearl-colored skies.

A special mention to the staff members whose names I can remember: Khun Tea from Thailand, Timo the General Manager (from Switzerland I believe) and a very friendly girl whose name eludes me at this moment, I think it was Diamond.

Thank you Cape Fahn I hope to visit again in the near future.

Great hotel on the private islands, we stayed one night in this hotel it turned out the best hotel we’ve ever stayed.
Great welcome from the Front Office team with tasty welcome drink and cookies.
The room was so spacious with beautiful decor. The room has offered a beautiful view , very private and quiet. The bed was so comfortable so we didn’t want to leave the bed. The room is clean and equipped.

The restaurant LongDtai served very delicious food and the view from the restaurant was magnificent.

The breakfast they offer was very very good and different from other hotel. The food was various makes you want to eat them all, the best breakfast ever.

The staff was very attentive and helpful thank you so much for taking care of us.

The overall stay was fabulous and feel truly luxurious.

Room tip: Private islands with easy access

This review is about a month and a half overdue and I’m so glad I finally have the time to leave it!

We had the privilege of staying at the Cape Fahn hotel over the festive season for a total of 8 nights in a Tropical Pool Villa (#14). Without a doubt, this was one of our favorite hotel stays in years! The staff across the board were fantastic.

From the GM Timo to the Front Desk Manager Kate, and Kate in the breakfast area, the service we received from ALL team members at the Cape Fahn hotel was warm, professional, and proactive.

Just a few examples…every morning we had the pleasure of dining for breakfast at Long Dtai. Kate was usually our server and remembered our drink and food order (down to the extra Croquettes!) every morning without hesitation. On another day, I was having issues with my ears and water. Without hesitation, Timo arranged for one of the Cape Fahn drivers to pick me up some ear drops from a local pharmacy. This is the kind of service that really can make a stay! The service at the beach club was also fantastic. I don’t remember his name, but every day he greeted us with a smile and took care of getting us paddle boards, sea kayaks, and drinks! So great.

The Villa itself was comfortable and we enjoyed our days by our private pool. The bedding is out of this world (I wish I could buy it!). It really was a great space.

I’ve stayed at several 5* hotels in Samui, and Cape Fahn is by far my favorite. It really does check all the boxes and we look forward to returning for years to come!
