“Most relaxing place to stay on the Island :) Great for Anniversaries”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2012

Most relaxing Hotel we stayed at during our entire Thailand trip, will definitely be back.

Service is outstanding and staff are extremely friendly and caring (didn't want us to hire scooters as its dangerous)

Upon arriving at the airport we were promptly picked up by the hotel's driver (This needs to be arranged) Once at the hotel a cool cloth and welcome drinks were given to us while we checked in and they transferred our luggage to our room.

The room (Deluxe Terrace Room) was a big size with a HUGE bath big enough for two. :) Our bed was decorated with a towel folded into an animal (pretty amazing - everyday after house keeping a new folded towel animal would be on our bed, with flowers) We had a ground floor room which meant we had a larger "private" terrace with 2 sun chairs.

The Hotel facilities are great, specially the pool. Complimentary sun cream/towels are available for guests.A bar in the pool. Beach sand is a bit course to walk on so keep a pair of flip flops at hand.

A massage "booth" with lovely Thai-ladies is right next to the hotel on the beach. experiencing a Thai-massage for the 1st time can be a little funny. (I have never heard my body click so much in my life) Very often there are people selling random items. This can get annoying after a while.

We relaxed at one of the restaurants our first evening, they have "jenga" games (we ended up buying one in town to take home) to play while enjoying a drink and setting into holiday mode completely. (also had swing chairs - adds a bit of fun)

Fire lights are lit at night adds to specialness of the hotel, Very relaxing.

Breakfast is great, with a variety of pretty much everything. Got to love the fresh fruit.

Fisherman's Island is literally walking distance via the beach. Hotel is in the perfect location.
A scooter hire place is directly opposite the hotel if you feel like exploring the island (well worth a drive around, just keep tabs of the weather as rain has a tenancy to fly in and down pour suddenly, but it doesn't last long and then its sun shine again.)

My Boyfriend ended up proposing to me in the hotel. In a private dinner in the Spa zen garden. This is easily arrange with the staff at the hotel. We also had a waiter to ourselves and let off a sky lantern after dinner to then return to a room that had been covered in flower's petals and a full bubble bath waiting for us. They really made is special. The next day written in tiny flowers was a "happy wedding anniversary" really amazing. oh and a slice of chocolate cake with sugar flowers - yum.

Hotel staff all congratulated us at breakfast the next day too, as I said GREAT STAFF.

Our stay was way too short, was sad to leave.

Room Tip: Ask hotel to pick you up from the airport as it can be confusing finding the hotel ;)

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and we were a group of 8 people and 1 baby. I must add that this was our first Anantara experience and it is safe to say that we were addicted. The service, the staff and the resort itself are absolutly great.
The main restaurant not only laid a great breakfast spread but also offered delicious lunch and dinner options.
The pool was great and probably one of the best we had seen by far, and we managed to stay in the reosrt all 4 days and did not even go out for meals or to explore.
It was a great vacation and provided us the opportunity to stay at more Anantara resorts worldwide,
Great job and thank you guys!!

Room Tip: The villas are higly recommended.

Just returned from a glorious 2 week stay at the Anantara Bohpit resort in Koh Samui. The trip was so successful and restful and we almost didn't leave the hotel to visit any other part of the island with the exception of Fisherman's Village. Staff were excellent and we enjoyed every lunch and dinner taken on the property. The staff were superb especially Darika who worked at the Full Moon & the pool - that said, could not fault any of the staff. We will return soon.....tip - splash out and get a suite....lovely!

Room Tip: Suites are large and have 2 balconies

We were delighted with the service and our first anantara experience. This ws a vacation while I was 6 months pregnant and with a couple friend of ours.
Excellent product in terms of the hotel upkeep....the spa is indeed almost an old spa original copy....they've kept the whole place immaculate.

Breakfast was nice with a decent variety catering to all kinds. we stayed in the rooms over looking the pool with a cute balcony that had seating for two ....it ws lovely...n close to the beach n pool.

Good news for divers n those interested in snorkelling and canoeing.....canoes of the hotel are available to use ...the hotel has a dive center attached . Our dive trip ws well organised ...I cldnt dive and this time but my husband did...we are licenced divers.

Every staff member of the hotel are so happy n Ever pleasant. Starts with The welcome drink - cold hibescus ice tea is so refreshing...

The anantara sales team do offer to take you through a sales tour , which is quite a deal ....and you get to see the villas and benefits of the lifetime vacation deal....u may or may not chose to buy the deal, but taking the tour gets you a good deal @the spa. We did it.

The hotel is adjacent to fishermans market and the street that has upteen eateries ....delicious local food...as well as bistros and cafes....so you can step out and walk to try out some more dining options ....perfect location from that sense.

Room Tip: Pool sea view rooms are the best....closest to the place you will be hangin out the most

The Anantara is situated between the main road and the beach on the island’s quiet north shore, also home to several other upmarket hotels and “Fisherman’s Village”, just a 5 minute walk along the beach road where there are many decent restaurants and bars. The hotel grounds consist of beautiful, well-kept gardens surrounding a long pond with the lobby at one end and a decent sized pool at the other. Our room was large, comfortable and clean with balconies looking out to the pool and the sea beyond. We did notice several maintenance issues around the hotel – both in our room and around the communal area (doors off hinges, cracking plaster, crumbling cement in pool etc.) but the hotel never felt too busy and we didn’t experience any of the sun-lounger hogging problems that other reviewers seemed to have suffered.

Breakfast was very nice and offered a wide selection of cuisines. Lunch around the pool was a bit hit-and-miss e.g. the ‘street food’ BBQ was delicious, fresh and great value but the sharing platter was terrible quality, deep fried muck. One evening, we had a private dinner for two in one of the pergolas on the grounds which was very tasty and a great experience but it was rather expensive (special occasions only!)

Although the staff were always very polite and happy to help you, the overall service level just didn’t quite match the ambience of the hotel. Firstly it didn’t seem like there were enough of them– it often took a long time to be noticed and served. Secondly, there was no sense of staff being proactive – i.e. you have to call them over, rather than them spotting that you finished your glass and may want another drink. One evening, there was a power cut which lasted for about 5 hours and although the hotel had backup generators, only half the hotel received any power and we were simply told that we should use the solitary candle in our room. The hotel really should be better prepared for these sorts of events.

My biggest grievance is that the hotel charges for using wifi. It will cost you £50 for a week to use wifi in your room, and that’s PER DEVICE – if two of you want to use the internet at the same time you’ll pay twice! Yes, you can get a free 30 minute token to use in the computer room but it’s a pain to have to keep walking to reception going to ask when I just want to check one web page or read one email. I think every hotel I have stayed at for the last 4-5 years, including some zero-star dives, have included free wifi. All the bars up the road in Fisherman’s village offer free wifi – why not my luxury hotel? The management should seriously rethink this policy!

Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Had the best sleep in my entire life. Beds are super comfy. Rooms are very cozy.
Beach is very clean. The sand is really white. Villas come with a pool. Very close to Fisherman's village and bars. Average food.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. Kudos for everything. The moment we turned to the hotel from the main road, it just rejuvenate your spirits. The ambience of the hotel is based on Buddhist philosophy where calm spirits, makes happy lives :). The staff was super nice and very helpful. They try to get to know you personally. The rooms are small, but very very very romantic. They have a very decent breakfast spread, but I honestly think they can make it better. The restaurant food inside the hotel is bit pricy, however they are good. You can always go out of the hotel and just walk few feet to the right and you come across lots of restaurants, which has good, tasty food for cheap prices. All in all we had an awesome time at this place.

Room Tip: When booking get a room on the 3rd floor with sea view. That would make ur holiday a wonderful one.
