From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were treated like royalty! The staff were efficient, professional yet friendly, very helpful and accommodating, with nothing being too much trouble!. Our pool villa with ocean views was exceptionally clean, extremely comfortable, with every possible amenity. The breakfast consisted of a superb buffet, all the restaurants offered mouthwatering meals, with great wine choices. The library had some great books also, not that we did much reading. The resort is conveniently situated between Chaweng and Fisherman's village(fifteen minuted by taxi) giving us many restaurant options and great shopping. The resorts "buggy service" is great too and the resort grounds are like a tropical paradise. Our eight nights spent at the resort were a wonderful experience and will definitely return. Thank you to the resort manager(David) and all the staff. Thank you housekeeping and the gardners who were all so polite and friendly.

Room Tip: If you can, ask for a ocean views and pool villa!

We stayed at the Six Senses Samui on our honeymoon and would recommend it to anyone looking for the ultimate luxury stay. From the moment we arrived at Koh Samui and were greeted at the airport to the moment we had to leave, nothing was too much effort and the service was exceptional. All the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. The Ocean front pool villa was a touch of class and worth every penny. Thank you to David and all the team, we will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Try the Dining on the Rocks restaurant, we had the experience tasting menu and wine to match, the fo...

The tip is for a lazy lunch and the latest reading material the top bar/lounge/restaurant is a great spot to while away some time.

The food is a bit over the top but still tasty and they will serve it whilst you lase on one of there huge swing lounges.

The pick you up in a buggy from the car park - the walk to the beach is down about 500 mts of steps - but they have a huge pool hanging over the ocean.

Take a walk to the rocks eating platforms and you may even stay for dinner which we understand is quite good,it opens at 6 pm

Room Tip: All rooms require a walk or buggy to the main area.

I very seldom write a bad review but our stay earlier this month was one of or most disappointing we have had in all our travels. We traveled throughout SE Asia for the months of December and January and really wanted to stay somewhere special for New Years. After lots of research and reading of reviews we decided to stay at Six Senses in Samui because of all the excellent reviews. We seemed to have not got the best out of our stay as all the other reviews seem to rave about their stay. From our welcome and introduction to our butler, who was seldom available at all the service was not what you would have expected and paid for. At one point I had our butler standing outside our villa looking through the window whilst on the phone to me. The least you could expect is some privacy. On our first night we phoned for a buggy three times and eventually walked. On our departure we had housekeeping arrive unannounced whilst still in the room looking if we had taken anything from the room and starting to clean (this was before the check out time) and not even helping with our baggage. Just also be wary of the mosquitoes as we could not sit outside without being bitten alive (the resort does spray and it is not in their control) The restaurant manager made up for the stay with his friendliness and always a smile. I do know we were there at a busy time over the Festive season but we were paying about $1300 a night for only breakfast you would think you would receive five star service and friendliness. We had just visited Six Senses Con Dao in Vietnam and were greatly impressed by this resort.

We spent six nights in a pool villa in Dec. 2011. It's not the newest Six Senses but it's well maintained. Service is very nice (especially restaurant and bar staff. Dining- and Drinks on the Hill make you addicted within only one visit). Never had such excellent Thai food, and I know what I'm talking about ;-) Service always with a smile. Don't forget to attend the twice weekly Managment Reception. Great drinks, fun people.
We had a little issue with construction work and heavy noise during our stay. The management solved it to our satisfaction. Six Senses Samui has a very nice GM and Deputy GM.
I got sick once and had to go to the hospital due to high temperature. Of, course, our really nice Butler, Bo, came with us to watch over us. They did not charge us for the rides to and from the hospital. That's service.
I'm a great "The Surin Phuket" fan and therefore was a little disappointed with the beach in Samui! But if you are a pool person or like the privacy of your villa, you will not be disappointed. We went as a couple and even though it always looks like a "couple place" from the website I could imagine to spend four or five days by myself at Six Senses Samui. A perfect place to relax with a good mix of people.

Well I am still resident at the six senses, for a couple more days at least. We have a had a great 2 week stay. The villas are superb, comfy bed, nice linen choice of pillows. Free wifi in each room. A/c brilliant we love an ice cold room and were able to turn the a/c right down. Outside rain shower great.
The butler service is thoughtful, our butler Chaki saw us most days at breakfast, if not by the pool or in the lobby. She always had an informal chat, and was always looking for clues if there was anything we needed, and most times without asking things appeared.
Food was mostly excellent, breakfast amazing, and best of all served till 11.00am, the best scrambled eggs I have ever had in a hotel. Service always friendly and welcoming. F+b director Juliana always on hand to make sure things run smoothly, and a friendly chat. The only disappointment was the Thai buffet, which fell short of the al a carte Thai menu. Prices similar to restaurants (tourist) outside the resort.
This is my first stay at a six senses resort , so was impressed with their environmental policies, the first thing I noticed was there are no plastic bottles anywhere, things like shower gel are refillable, complimentary mineral water in re usable glass bottles (with a hygiene seal). But it doesn’t stop there, if you want to know more read “the little green book” in your room ....i was very impressed.
I would say the island tour whether you do it idependantly, through and agent or with the hotel is really not worth the time or the effort. However the elephant trekking arranged through the hotel should not be missed, ½ hour is more than enough, don’t do the hour, because it’s only about 45 mins (nothing to do with the hotel)
Six senses Samui has a ‘can do’ policy, and I don’t think in 2 weeks I ever heard the word no. The hotel posts no rules or regulations, and counts upon its guests to respect the tarnquility, and other guests. A welcome letter from the general manager is in your room, and there is just one sentence that asks guests not to use their mobiles in public areas. I was pleased to observe this, but others were not so considerate. I guess my mobile phone is my servant, but these others were servants to their mobiles.
You will stay here for a nice relaxing time, for peace and quiet, for luxury, great service, nice food (some home grown on the hotels own property). You should not stay here if you expect anything different, the hotels states what it does and does it well.

Even though I had researched the resort thoroughly, our expectations were exceeded!  Husband Ron was impressed to find that although we had everything we wanted - drinks, excursions, room service on those days we didn't want to budge from our lovely hideaway villa, posh dinners on the rocks, massages & more - the bill was less than anticipated considering it is a 5* resort in an island location. We stayed in a villa with sunrise views to the east, near Dining on the Rocks in Sept 2011.

For us, it met all our holiday wishes - two weeks of unmitigated relaxation and de-stressing after relentless deadlines, time to be together, luxury without having to be suited and booted, surrounded by natural materials and beauty rather than concrete & chrome, great food, feeling part of the family thanks to the truly hospitable David - the "visible" GM and the rest of the hosts, never having a problem getting somewhere to relax by the pool or beach, a 'can-do, anything-is-possible' attitude from everyone that makes it so easy to ask for & get what you want or need.  There is lots to do at the resort if you want to, but gazing at the sea over edge of the fabulous infinity pool took some beating.

If there was a problem, such as when our espresso machine wouldn't work, a solution was quickly found - cafetierre & fresh ground coffee - even better for us!

Special mentions to Ranita in Dining on the Hill for giving us great advice in her cheery way  on Thai culture, food, spicing, wine & dining opportunities.

Lastly, my truly grateful thanks to Joy our butler, whose patience, anticipation, ideas, caring & warmth ushered us into the SLOW LIFE just as is promised in the brochure - We didn't want to leave ...  and can't wait to go back.
