Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it, though had a couple of very minor issues!

Firstly the pros:

Lovely room, well furnished
Lovely staff
Great parking
Soooooo peaceful

Now unfortunately the cons:

The village (Pelago) is dead, so if you don't want to eat at the restaurant you absolutely need to drive somewhere. The rural roads can lead to scary experiences at night time.

Towels are changed every 3 days, which is fine - that is very well explained. However my towels were taken to be cleaned on Wednesday and weren't returned by when I left Friday!

Low water pressure so showers are a bit lame.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay, I will return to Florence however I will stay within the city itself next time as the resort is quite a distance by car and driving and parking in Florence are rather stressful!

Room Tip: Great views of Tuscan Countryside

We stayed in June 2016 and upgraded from a Studio to a 2 bedroom apartment at very little extra cost. It was lovely with a self catering kitchen and felt very luxurious. The restaurant provided a good breakfast and there was a pool although we didn't use it.

Easy to find, staff were lovely and can't do enough to help you. We were upgraded free of charge when we arrived. The pool was great, the spa was brilliant (although we just used facilities, no treatments) and our room was fantastic. The staff at the hotel organised a short notice winery visit for us at Castello Del Trebbio (go - it's brilliant, not to mention great value) recommended places to visit and the best way to get into Florence city centre with minimal hassle and even printed boarding passes for us when we needed them before we went - extremely helpful. Food was awesome too. Would 100% visit again!

We have just arrived home after four nights at the Florence Hills and we are already planning our next trip.

Where do we begin..... the staff (Sara and all the team) are simply wonderful we were delayed in our arrival and Sara pulled out the stops to help us get to the hotel from the train station at neighbouring Pontassieve (we recommend you have transport so you can explore the region) late at night.

The fantastic service didn't stop there, the team even remembered the day of our wedding anniversary we enjoyed everything about our stay and would recommend FHR to everyone wanting to see and experience Tuscany.

We would urge visitors to the region to have transport as the local bus services are fairly relaxed.

It would be lovely to see more restaurants in Pelago however the hotel restaurant serves the best ravioli we've had and the local wine is bella!

Thank you to all the staff, we hope to see you again soon.

This is a small hotel on the outer edge of a small village in the Tuscan Hills about 20-25km from Florence, I found the term "resort" a little grandiose for the site but it is set in a lovely self contained site with about 30 rooms/apartments centred around a pool area. The buildings are all white in colour so are somewhat in contrast to Tuscan buildings but this does have the effect of making things seem sharply bright in the sunshine.
We had a problem with the drainage from the shower in one of our rooms and after spending about half a day trying to fix it unsuccessfully - the manager without being asked simply moved us to a duplex suite with a kitchenette. All accommodation is very clean and bedding/towels are changed frequently.
The staff are the most helpful and delightful that we have ever encountered on our many trips to Italy - we manged to puncture the tyre of our hire car and Sara from the front of house team made several calls in order to help us try and get things repaired. All other staff from cleaners to dining room were helpful and cheerful with just enough English to understand us.
My children (19 & 17) were delighted to find that the free Wifi was very strong and stable enough for the same level of social media and streaming that we have in the uk through fast fibre optic internet.
The food at the hotel is ok. Breakfasts are a basically unchanging selection of continental items but there is more than enough choice for any dietary requirement, coffee is freshly made to your individual order or preference and getting a second (or third) cup is no problem.
The hotel is brilliantly sited for trips to Florence but it will take you 90 minutes to drive to Pisa or Siena.

Room Tip: Family of 4/5? get price of duplex suite +kitchenette - prepared lunches in ours which cut the cost of the trip.
