We spent around four days in this wonderful resort and received the most excellent service all around. The staff was very welcoming and wanted to make sure that our stay was pleasant. The spa section includes two different saunas (Turkish and Finnish), a roman spa and a general chillout area. A mellow atmosphere helps you to relax. We found the resort excellent and highly recommendable. The town of Pelago has a very few attractions so if you want to see places, a car is recommended. Walking on the side of the road shoulder is not very pleasant because of the local driving customs.

Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it, though had a couple of very minor issues!

Firstly the pros:

Lovely room, well furnished
Lovely staff
Great parking
Soooooo peaceful

Now unfortunately the cons:

The village (Pelago) is dead, so if you don't want to eat at the restaurant you absolutely need to drive somewhere. The rural roads can lead to scary experiences at night time.

Towels are changed every 3 days, which is fine - that is very well explained. However my towels were taken to be cleaned on Wednesday and weren't returned by when I left Friday!

Low water pressure so showers are a bit lame.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay, I will return to Florence however I will stay within the city itself next time as the resort is quite a distance by car and driving and parking in Florence are rather stressful!

Room Tip: Great views of Tuscan Countryside

We stayed in June 2016 and upgraded from a Studio to a 2 bedroom apartment at very little extra cost. It was lovely with a self catering kitchen and felt very luxurious. The restaurant provided a good breakfast and there was a pool although we didn't use it.

Easy to find, staff were lovely and can't do enough to help you. We were upgraded free of charge when we arrived. The pool was great, the spa was brilliant (although we just used facilities, no treatments) and our room was fantastic. The staff at the hotel organised a short notice winery visit for us at Castello Del Trebbio (go - it's brilliant, not to mention great value) recommended places to visit and the best way to get into Florence city centre with minimal hassle and even printed boarding passes for us when we needed them before we went - extremely helpful. Food was awesome too. Would 100% visit again!

We have just arrived home after four nights at the Florence Hills and we are already planning our next trip.

Where do we begin..... the staff (Sara and all the team) are simply wonderful we were delayed in our arrival and Sara pulled out the stops to help us get to the hotel from the train station at neighbouring Pontassieve (we recommend you have transport so you can explore the region) late at night.

The fantastic service didn't stop there, the team even remembered the day of our wedding anniversary we enjoyed everything about our stay and would recommend FHR to everyone wanting to see and experience Tuscany.

We would urge visitors to the region to have transport as the local bus services are fairly relaxed.

It would be lovely to see more restaurants in Pelago however the hotel restaurant serves the best ravioli we've had and the local wine is bella!

Thank you to all the staff, we hope to see you again soon.
