“Brilliant stay, can't stop myself coming back.”
Reviewed August 10, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

I had my fourth stay at the Annexe in July, and I have to say, I still cannot fault the apartment at all. You would expect after 3 years of going to the same place, you'd notice it looking tired, but quite honestly, it doesn't. You could easily be mistaken and think it had only opened this year!
Extremely dog friendly, Lorna, Martin and Trudy always make a fuss, you feel like your dog is actually a person the attention they pay! Doggy box in the kitchen with everything you could need for them, and the garden is perfect for the dogs, aswell as the green literally next to the cottage, one of the most dog friendly cafe's I've ever found, and some brilliant beaches for walks 10/20 minutes walk down the road. Allonby is a good one to aim for, but there is one a bit closer though there's no place name nearby or name of the beach, on the way there's a visitor attraction off to the left, look a bit further on on your right and just before the bus shelter there's a rickety lane off to your right, this leads to the best beach ever. Sometimes you can see cars parked up through the grass, but more often than not it's empty - even better for walks!
There is everything you could need for a holiday provided in the cottage, and Lorna&Martin always make you feel welcome, as well as Trudy when they're away. Trudy let me into the cottage this time, I've met her before, but this was in 2013, and she was treating me like she's known me forever, you really are made to feel welcome here, unlike some other holiday accomodation where you're blatantly just a customer. They're happy to help with anything, or give tips of where to eat, or good days out.
Silloth itself is a little hidden gem, so peaceful, you can instantly feel the calm as you drive down the main street to get to the cottage. When you live in the city, it is a very welcome change, and everyone there, whether it is the shops you go into, or the locals you bump into walking around, make you feel genuinely welcome and there's no "we're locals, you're tourists" feeling.
I'll definitely be coming back for years to come, maybe one day I'll move here and so I can skip the 3 hour journey!

“A perfect retreat for two people and a little Jack Russell!”
Reviewed May 8, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We visit Silloth regularly and we have been looking for a place just like Grey House Annexe for years - it is a perfect retreat for two people and a little Jack Russell! The accommodation is great and provided us with everything we needed for a quiet, comfortable and relaxing stay right on the sea-front - a delightfully comfortable super-king sized bed (we slept like logs!), a quiet comfortable and sunny (whilst we were there!) sitting room, a really good power shower, essential starter-supplies for us, a safe enclosed garden for our dog and also a drawer full of welcome treats for her! Lorna and Martin were friendly, welcoming and helpful without being the slightest bit intrusive. We will return for a longer stay next time!

“Great little hideaway”

My fiancé & I stayed here for valentines weekend. Lorna & Martin have done a great job with the annex, it feels like a bungalow . It's really well presented and has all the things you'd have at home, even down to a dog blanket & treats. It's contained garden was great for our pug meaning he could wander around in complete safety. All the rooms are a good size and well finished. It has a super king bed that's as comfy as it large between this and the large power shower. You will feel rested & relaxed after a stay here. Especially after a stroll on the promenade which is less than 5 minutes from the house. On a side note you should definitely try an ice cream davisons (just up the road). My partner and I will be recommending the annex to friends and will use it as a base when we explore the North again.

“A magical place to stay”
Reviewed August 30, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We had never been to Silloth before, and we chose the Grey House Annexe through the internet. What a wonderful stay! Very clean and comfortable and it is unusual to find those little touches of welcome like a pint of milk in the fridge and a whole drawer full of a dog's needs - bowls, biscuits etc etc. Lorna and David have put a great deal of thought into this lovely holiday retreat.

This was our first time to Siloth so we were not quite sure what to expect. We booked the "The Grey House Annexe" through the internet as it was near where we needed to be as other family members were also going to Siloth. The price was right and the picture's looked lovely, Any way we were greeted by Martin who showed us around the annexe and pointed out the main things we needed to know. We then went on to unpack and make the place our home for the next 5 days. The annexe was spotless there was everything you needed and more, we had taken our dog (max) with us and they had even catered for him, spare leads, water bowls, and even a blanket, and the garden was enclosed so he had his own space to run around in.
I would most certainly recommend this place to any one and if we were up in the area again I know we would be booking it again.
