Motel is quiet and situated on a back road off of the main road leading into Digby. The room was a little on the small side and could do with modernising. Only a few minutes drive into Digby.

There was a small breakfast offering in the office with fresh baked goods which was very nice. Phyllis and Martin were very pleasant and accommodating.

September 2017, our third time at the Basinview Motel. Once again a wonderful experience. The location is great, overlooking Digby Gut and close to Digby but nice and quiet. The rooms are not very modern but very, very clean! Lazy Bear Brewing is a 5 minute walk away. They are open on Thursdayevening, go and try their beer! Breakfast in the sunroom is very nice at the Basinview. Just some coffee, tea, muffins and cakes, but it is the hospitality of the owners, Martin and Phyllis Vree that makes it a perfect stay. Go and join them next time you visit the Digby area !

The hotel is very basic and does not have great view of the Digby basin as the name may suggest. The shower stall is apparently Canadian Tire style plastic, the TV maybe 18", which was okay as I work on my lap-top. There was no decent desk to work off, power outlets were very limited, the carpet had seen better days, no air condition or vent in the bathroom, only an open window, but the flies were coming in attracted by the light.

Almost B&B like spotless motel. Owners made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. The coffee and breakfast goodies (most homemade) were the perfect start to the day. Evening sunsets on your porch, the walking trail that has fabulous views of the sea, and the comfie swing where you can unwind and read or snooze were perfect. The best choice for our home base on a very lovely east coast trip. Will definitely be back.

Old fashioned motel located on the outskirts of Digby. Helpful owners with regard to ferry bookings. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Certainly one of my best choices on a long trip in eastern Canada.

Stayed: August 2017, travelled solo
