We stayed in the hotel as part of the package of a Shearings holiday to Bavaria.
Our room was on the ground floor and looked out at fields of corn.
The room was very basic- no refrigerator, kettle or hair dryer in the room. The bed was very uncomfortable with a hard wooden frame. It was difficult to get in and out of bed without banging your ankles. The shower was adequate the shower tray was very shallow and water everywhere. Rooks only serviced every other day.
The meals were very basic and not at all like usual high quality German food one would expect. Very mushy foods and desserts were instant whipped things every night. No variety at all. Menus were written in german with no english translations.
No safety information in english either and no fire safety alarms in rooms.
Lots of steps and lots of walking from room to dining room for those with walking difficulties.
Shearings were allocated a room which was inferior to the main dining area and a long way from the buffet.
No service at table and no hot drinks with meals.
The village was worth a walk but a day was adequate - for those with mobility issues the village was out as it was up and down hill.
Staff were Ok but not very customer focused. A beautiful setting with alot of potential but needs some TLC to get things moving in the right direction. Staff are rude and grumpy- never a smile or Good Morning.

Room Tip: Think of mobility - can you manage the steps and walking do you need a comfortable bed.

We stayed here 6 nights with Shearings. Nice hotel and lovely clean rooms. Food was quite basic and 'samey' but there was plenty of it and being self service you could just return and help yourself. We were meant to have an exclusive dining room and yes on occasion non Shearings guests sat with us but as we were all 'all inclusive' it made no difference at all. Packed lunches were not part of our deal so we had no issue with that but staff seemed very helpful so I'm sure they would have stepped in if there was an issue. Pool lovely and beautifully clean. Pleasant village we walked to nearby ski lifts and NATO tower on our off day. Wi-Fi available in main building but did not reach our room......not really an issue. Would have no hesitation in staying here again

our room was on the ground floor , with a wonderful view across the fields while sat on our patio. The village was well worth a visit ,and the hotel give a free bus pass ,but we got a map of the village and the forest, do go into the forest and up the ski lift a wonderful view from the top.theres a restaurant that you can get a meal and drink from. You are very near the Czech border so you can go to prague, and theres a tree top walk in the Bavarian forest which is highly recomended

first of all I must congradulate the driver John,he was brilliant we sailed from hull to Rotterdam on p.o.ferries. it was like a mini cruise ship. food very good, a band playing and a casino. we hit bad weather going out but survived. the hotel we stopped at half way down Germany was good but the evening meal was a buffet meal in a Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel,if you did not like Chinese food there was nothing else. when we got to the hotel we found it had 210 rooms . a lot of the rooms were in 5 annexes which were detached from the main hotel. we had a room in the main building was nice. the food in the hotel was buffet style every night. we thought the food was aimed at the many german people a nd it was not very nice. the hotel was so full it was a stampeed to get a dinner plate and que for the food. the inclusive bar did finnish at 9 o clock and the beer which was served in half glasses was poor for Bavarian standards. the trips out good except for zwisel where there was not much to see. all in all we were pleased to have done Bavaria but would not go back. give us the Italian lakes with the small and friendly hotels anytime.

Hotel is clean and tidy and good location but the food is awful, I lived on cheese rolls ,tea and coffee no better. Think in general the hotel is not geared up for or interested in tourists from the UK.

Room Tip: Have one overlooking the field at the back but really would not recommend this hotel
