The hotel was lovely and a good bargain. The dive center is right on the property and the hotel staff was wonderful. The pool and the beach were really nice. The food was also very good, but we would have liked more variety. The menu is the same throughout the hotel so you only have about 20 things to choose from, which gets a little monotonous over the course of a week (although the chicken roti I could probably have all day). That said, there are other restaurants on Grand Anse beach that you can walk to (either along the road or the beach). Just ask the staff, they'll point you in the right direction. There is also a grocery store across the road from the hotel. I will also say that the breakfast buffet was great. And did I mention the staff? Seriously, we would go back just for them. The absolute nicest people. So caring and hard-working. We loved them!
The only real major negative was that they specifically advertised as having babysitting services, but don't actually provide them. We chose this hotel specifically because we wanted to get a babysitter for New Year's Eve. I called ahead and asked if we could reserve a babysitter in advance for New Year's Eve and they said we had to reserve it at check-in. When we got there, no one had any idea about babysitting services. We ended up asking...The hotel was lovely and a good bargain. We ended up asking one of the nice hotel staff (but there was a miscommunication and she showed up 2 hours after we were expecting her, so we just stayed in with the little one, which was actually nice). So just be aware that they don't actually offer babysitting services, but if you are comfortable with it you can always ask one of the lovely hotel staff. Many of them are moms themselves and they love kids! (See evidence in the photos I posted - everyone wanted to hang out with my son!)More
