As Vtt870 said we totally enjoyed our stay at Turtle Beach. For the the price and what you recived we felt we did very well. The room was spacious and comfortable with a TV couch plenty of light, terrace and nice bathroom. Upon check-in, the room was not ready as we arrived earlier than the appointed time but we were taken down to lunch and notified when our room was ready. Check-in was a breeze. The whole staff could not have been nicer. Everybody was extremely accommodating and extremely pleasant. The beach was beautiful ( a little crowded) with enough chairs for everybody. The water itself was a little rough but once you went past the breakers standing, you could jump the waves and enjoy the water. There were trade winds which though a little breezy, the sand was not hot and you did not feel scorched. Beware though (you could get a sunburn very easily) .During the morning somebody from the bar came out on the beach and served you a coconut pop, creamsicle, or fruit salad. In the afternoon it was a nice cool drink (This was a great touch) If you walked from the end of the resort to the end of the second strip the distance was about a half mile. It was great to walk this beach. These are public beaches so licensed vendors were allowed on. However if you did not want to avail yourself of what they were hawking (mangos. tours of the town, Jewelry), you said no thank you and you would be left alone. As for the food, it was average to very good but with enough of a choice that you did not go hungry. Of course the Ala Carte (it is all inclusive) restaurants were a little better than the buffets. There was some entertainment six of the seven nights. There is a business center with five computers for the guest's use, as well as tennis courts and a gym to work off the three meals a day and unlimited drinks.. And I found one of the best things is that the hotel is trying to be ecofriendly.

The only gripe that I had with the resort is that even though the restaurants were no smoking, ash trays were set up on tables just outside the open air restaurants and the smoke would waft its way into the restaurant.

Other than that it was a superb restful vacation with a very friendly population and I would have no problem visiting Barbados and Turtle Beach Resort again (even though I did not see any Turtles).

P.S. I did not have to exchange U.S.dollars for Barbados dollars as my money was accepted everywhere.

Kudos Elegant Hotels.

I only spent one day at this hotel on a day pass while i was waiting for a connecting flight. This hotel made me want to return to Barbados. We arrived just in time for breakfast which was usual all inclusive buffet style. Everything was fresh and kept topped up, the waiting staff were very attentive, especially to my need of coffee that morning!
After breakfast we made full use of the sun loungers situated just past the pool on the beach. The staff were very helpful explaining the sea and safe swimming areas, giving us a little knowledge of the area etc. We were haneded drinks and boxes of fruit while we were sun bathing, you really dont have to lift a figer in this place.
Lunchtime was up to the same excellent standard as breakfast. There was again a buffet outdoors with a choice of european/american dishes and also local caribbean cuisine. I spotted someone famous from the UK at the restaurant!!
All of the staff in this hotel were very helpful and attentive from the lady on reception to the waiting and watersports/pool staff. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the dinner or rooms but hopefully next time i'm in Barbados I will be able to add to this review!

Just returned from a stay at the Turtle Beach Hotel. This was our 1st experience of an all inclusive Caribbean holiday and we were not sure what to expect.
All i can say, is how much we enjoyed it, which was all due to the weather, beautiful white sand turquoise waters, lovely room, view and surroundings, not to mention the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff, too numerous to mention, but Lenelle, Michelle, Jaqueline and Damien spring to mind as exceptional, so thanks to all for making our stay so good!
The hotel and grounds were very clean and well kept. The famous birds didn't present much of a problem. The food was hot and the drinks plentiful!
If there was any small negatives it would be, the very rough sea and the entertainment could do with a bit of a revamp and possibly finish a bit later!
All in all, well done to all at Turtle Beach

We stayed at the Turtle Beach Resort for 10 days for a much needed “holiday of a lifetime”. We did lots of research before booking, and were satisfied that we had made the right choice for our budget.

Upon arrival at Turtle Beach we were greeted with a rum punch and shown to our room. This was spacious and clean and our patio faced directly on to the pool. The pool area itself was well maintained and there was never a fight for a sunbed – even during the Easter holidays!

As others have said the beach is beautiful but the sea is very rough. I am a strong swimmer but did not feel confident swimming. If you enjoy swimming in the sea I would recommend going elsewhere, but this didn’t really bother us as we had two pools to choose from, plus the Jacuzzi!

We found the food served to be of a very high standard and really did enjoy the majority of our meals. As a fussy vegetarian I spent most nights at the buffet and there was always something I could eat. The staff were always friendly and happy to accommodate any food requests. There were birds flying around while we were eating, but they didn’t disturb us. This is the Caribbean and you are eating outside – I’m not sure what people who have complained expect the hotel to do about this.

The staff at Turtle Beach are friendly, happy people who seem to really enjoy their jobs. They were always willing to help. However, on some occasions they were very laid back and service was very slow – to the extent where we were waiting for up to 30 minutes for drinks to arrive (on a couple occasions after we had finished our dinner!).

We used the spa on a rainy day and were pleased with the treatments – these were done to a very high standard.

Overall, we were pleased that we booked Turtle Beach, but there were a couple of niggles. I must mention the lack of internet access. There was an internet café provided, where guests could use the internet for free, however more often than not the internet was not working on these computers. In the end we decided to pay for wi-fi in our room, but on the times that we did manage to pay successfully this was ridiculously slow. Other times we couldn’t even get it to take payment details. I feel in a hotel of this calibre fast, free wi-fi should be provided in every room.

We loved Barbados and would thoroughly recommend the Cool Runnings boat trip, where you get to swim with turtles, and heading down to Oistin’s on a Friday night for the fish festival – great fun!

We booked to stay at the Sea Breeze Hotel eight months prior to departure and then eight days before Virgin called to say they had double booked so tried to move us to another hotel, which we refused; three days before departure they confirmed we could after all stay at the Sea Breeze; but they lied and when we arrived at Barbados Airport told us we were booked into this other hotel, we again refused and said the only other hotel we would consider was the Turtle Beach, which they transferred us to eventually.

Lovely hotel, nice food, couldn't quite see why Virgin tried to charge the three of us £850 for the move to this hotel as we were only there three nights before we went on a cruise; needless to say we refused to pay; the customer service provided from Virgin has been terrible, never recommend them to anyone, unless you want them to have a holiday they never booked; they really couldn't give a flying fig about you once you have paid your money!

Just got back from a great stay at this resort. How could someone ask for anything more? Great food, drinks, entertainment, location, beach..... Here's a brief rundown.

Flight: Air Canada.... I must say, faith has been restored. The in-flight entertainment (movies, tv shows, etc) made the 5 hours journey go by quick.

Transfer to and from airport: A breeze.

Resort in general: small and cozy... nothing is too far.

Rooms: Wow!! We were in a 4th floor, ocean front suite. King size bed was very comfy and the fridge was cold. Lots of hot water. The free in room safe is a key less one, so no worries about loosing the key. TIP: DO NOT program the code when you are drunk.... it makes it very difficult to remember your 4 digit code to unlock!! :-)

Food and Restaurants: One of the best... fish, chicken, thick juicy burgers cooked to perfection, made to order wraps, and all the sides. ALL kept hot or cold... no worries about getting sick here.

Entertainment: Really,... not that bad. Yes it ended at 10 pm, but the resort is a hop, skip and a jump form the nightlife on the Gap if you wanted to keep the party going.

Beach: Not overly long, but white sand and very clean. Great wave action for boogie boarding. But could be a bit much for a small child.... but we saw many kids playing in the wave under the watchful eye of a parent.

Beach Staff: Captain Sam made that we were well taken care of. Ricky (I called him Lefty cause he stubbed his toe on a chair and wore only one aqua sock to protect his toe), Dario and Amara were the real stars of the beach staff. Need a chair? No problem! Fresh towel? No problem! How many boogie boards do you want? I'll bring them to you. These guys worked their butts off. They are true friends. One evening we were walking back from the Gap and met up with them after their shift. Dario offered us his bicycle if we wanted to use it. Where else but Barbados would you experience this?

The whole bird issue: This resort spent a lot of time and energy training these birds to fly in and out of the open air restaurants. They were trained to fly up close to guests in an apparent attempt at pecking away at your head. Ok, enough fooling, we actually found the birds quite entertaining. It was always a game for us to pick a bird and plot it's next move... the winner not having to get the next round....

All in all, great resort. We make our trips our own and have fun. PM me if you have any specific questions.

Cheers,

allout

Barbados is truly a unique place... Everyone is friendly and polite and make you feel at home. Even the beach vendors! We'd just tell them "no thanks" and they were like "Hey no problem! Enjoy the rest of our vacation and welcome to Barbados!!"

Room Tip: ask for 208, 308, 408....

Myself and 3 friends have recently returned from our 10 day stay in Barbados and I cannot fault the hotel at all. The staff are very friendly and polite (especially Kevin behind the bar and Ricky and Sam on the beach) and the hotel is spotlessly clean. The food was of a very high quality and there is such a selection to chose from, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beach is literally in the back garden of the hotel, and having a free sunbed and beach towel was a nice little perk!! A few of the reviews here have complained about the birds, but these people really need to get a life!! There are only a few birds that come into the restaurant and yes they are cheeky but for me it really wasnt a big deal!

Great hotel and would go back there in a heartbeat! Would recommend it to everyone.

Jessica, Essex.
