After driving down a bumpy small road, we were so happy to find a terrace with beautiful views over the hills down to Bathsheba. Both times we have been there has been hardly any customers. The food is great, reasonable and the cook and waitress are so lovely. You have to wait a while for the food, but we had the company of blackbird and sparrow and a breeze and a view, so who cares?
Don't miss Hunte's garden if you are in the area- ideally do that first and cool off at Naniki after.

Maybe our timing was bad, because our experience at Naniki seems different than most reviews suggest. Our family of ten arrived at about 1:30 to an empty restaurant with a spectacular view of the hills and the ocean. The location was spectacular. After being seated, however, it took over an hour to get the first of our meals and the meals were staggered by as much as 20 minutes. After waiting all that time, the chicken was undercooked while the jerk pork was overcooked.

Too little, too late the waiter (manager?) came over to talk, but there was little he could do to make food magically appear.

What if the cook was sick or late, and someone else had to prepare our meals?
What if the kitchen wasn't ready to serve meals at 1:30? Not sure why, but what if?
What if something else was going on?

...It would have been nice to know in advance. I wish Naniki the best, and hope the next visitors enjoy a more typical experience.

Drove all the way up to Naniki's early Sunday afternoon for the 'famous' lunch buffet and live jazz; as per our guidebook and their website. The view is beautiful! But... there was NO music and only one large table of locals eating lunch. We were told by the proprietoress that the live jazz was only in January, even though their ad says Every Sunday, that lunch is a buffet and that the price is $75BDS ($37.5US). One would have to be desperate to pay that kind of money for a buffet meal with so few patrons. We weren't and so we left. We had tried to contact them before driving out there, but attributed their lack of response to how busy they must be on Live Jazz Sunday... haha

We had a great time at Naniki. We enjoyed the view, the peace, the proximity to Barclay's Park, Cattlewash, Bathsheba, and the wild and wonderful East Coast of Barbados. Many thanks!

This is a casual open air restaurant with scrumptious local food , serving the wellness centre at Naniki near Horse Hill in Barbados. We had fresh fish and sweet potato mash with grilled vegetables ,delicious. A great find near to Orchid world.

The view over a lush valley towards the eastern sea coast rivals the view from Cherry Tree Hill. It is peaceful and beautiful.

The resort is a wellness centre and the staff were setting up for a yoga retreat.
Be warned that the trip in from the main road is steep and bumpy, but less than a half kilometre so not too far.

We will be back.
