We had a fantastic two week stay at the Sea Breeze bungalow in May. The house is situated in a beautiful peaceful spot with views as stunning as they look on the photographs. The main 'disturbances' are bird song and tinkling goat herds.
Inside the bungalow is well furnished with a good sized bathroom and comfortable king size bed. Many a morning cuppa was enjoyed still in bed looking over those wonderful views. The down side is it makes it hard to get out and explore! The kitchen lounge area is a smaller space but perfectly adequate for two. We like to cook using all the local produce and it was great to have a full cooker with an oven rather than the more usual 2 ring hob. We had some rainy days and the bungalow was still a pleasant place to be with its large windows and comfortable seating. We didn't use the outdoor eating area and roof terrace much as the weather was a bit cool when we were there but we think they'd be great for the hotter weather providing both sun and shade.
We particularly liked that the bungalow was not part of a larger complex. It is an annex to the main house where the owners live, though not directly attached. The rooms are not overlooked in any way and the owners are unobtrusively friendly, like having great neighbours who'll help you out if you need it.
From your door you can walk along the 'street' through beautiful countryside to a small limestone gorge, or in the other direction, up the single track dirt road to Smyges forest picnic area which is the start of a number of good short marked nature trails and a crossroads of tracks for longer walks further in to the wild Akamas peninsula with its forest, native shrubland, birds and lizards.
You don't have a pool but why would you want one when you are only a 5 minute drive downhill from beautiful beaches, both wild and rocky with excellent snorkelling, or more organised with sunbeds and cafes?
From the house it's a 5-10 minute walk to 2 tavernas and a Tardis-like village shop in Neo Chorio village. The tavernas provide classic Greek food in quantities that will defeat you. If the remarkable and very friendly shop fails your needs then there is a large supermarket a 10-15 minute drive away in Polis. There are more tavernas (and smaller supermarkets) in Latchi, 5 minutes drive away, and Polis.
We had a great holiday here and would highly recommend it. We felt it was excellent value and an lovely peaceful base for exploring this north-west corner of Cyprus.
