we wanted to stay in this hotel for some time already, so have been really happy to find free rooms. to be fair, we booked them really on last minute, however this should not be an excuse.
on the positive note I have to say the staff and the owner are very friendly and try to help when you ask for something. e.g. we had really late arrival and the reception is open only till 8pm, so they find the way have to let us in. And from the pictures Ive seen there is lot of work behind the owner, is it was real ruin before.
on the other hand - the hotel is missing concept = is it hunting lodge or chateau or....? partially it is museum, but still should be somehow organized. the other and most disappointing was the room - according the numbering we had Count`s chamber, but it looked completely different, there was mixture of furniture types of all different eras (even the 80`s or 90`s) and the bed seems to be from IKEA and that the bathroom was really small.
I can understand if I get answer - sorry we are fully booked, what I cant is Superior room on this level in 4* historical hotel .

We stayed here for 4 night in July. The castle itself with the accomodation is gorgeous. We were staying in the "Knights chamber" which was very spacious, sunny and cosy.I appreciated the room even more as I was told that we got the last chamber available at the time we booked it.
The restaurant is romantic, whether you choose inside or outside.Inside you get kind of medieval kitchen experience, outside during warm summer evening we enjoyed a lovely garden seating. Food was very tasty and as we had 3 courses for dinner,we were always full. They also have a good choice of wines,Slovak ones were the best, especially Devin.Beer Erb is the best in Slovakia so we were happy to find it here.
We came by car so we had lots of opportunities for trips around the region - we visited Tatralandia,Ruzomberok,I even rode a horse for the first time...and dont forget to go for a walk to Skalka, little hill right above the castle.
We definitely recommend this place to everyone and hope to come back sometime.

Room Tip: we had the "knights chamber" n.17 which was very lovely :)

What a wonderful place to stay for a week. This is a beautiful hotel, with a lot of history. The rooms are individual and spacious, with everything you need and cleaned daily.

From the start of the holiday the owners and staff could not do enough for us - very hard working and attentive.

A great time was had by all - thank you for a great holiday.

Step back into time at this stunning castle, in the beautiful countryside of Slovakia. Old world charm at its greatest with all of the modern amenities you could wish for. Ria and her family are fantastic hosts and the experience will be one to remember. Make sure you spend some time in the wellness center -- total relaxation.

Room Tip: Each room is different and really charming. Check online for the details of each.
