Well run with great staff & management 9.3 I would not hestitate to recommend this delightful find. Attention to detail is evident from the well constructed restaurant menu, all the way through to the professionalism of the management & staff. Travelling in May (weather & sea wise) was always going to be a challenge and the extent of hotel beach was limited but the beautiful gardens & pool more than made up for it.
Look no further than this venue for a safe, central & great value option while discovering Phu Quoc.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom beach house with friends and our two small children. It was page perfect place for us to stay - plenty of space for the kids to play, beautiful swimming pools, the beach only meters away, and easy access to town and the night markets (for amazing fresh seafood dinners). It was great being able to put the kids to bed at night and still being within earshot of them while we were swimming in the pool or sitting on the terrace. We especially loved that there was no TV, and also loved our daily happy hour cocktails and mocktails. The staff were super helpful and friendly.

A wonderful place, under all aspects: familiarity, nature, food, landscape. We spent 4 unforgettable days at Cassia Cottage, in a beach house, which was clean, bright, elegantly furnished, yet in a very simple way. Personnel is professional, always available, english-speaking (something not so usual in Vietnam). It reminded us one of those great agri-tourisms you can find in Tuscany or Umbria: hosted in a farm-looking resort, with natural food and plantation everywhere. The scent of cinnamon is everywhere. And all the different varieties of plants makes it look like a little Eden. Everything is well managed and the management is punctual, serious and yet ironic: we'll never forget the "luxury villa" for rent (you have to go there to find out what it is)! The beach is just great, with palms and white sand just like the one in the movies.

We wish we will be back at Cassia Cottage soon.

Thank you Top Pear for your articulate thoughts. I can't add since, you totally "get" what we're doing. And I hear you are back this week on business this time. Your observations are useful for others who will join us, and much appreciated

We had not planned to stay at Cassia Cottage and were in fact at a different resort further down the beach. But a stroll down the beach led us to Cassia Cottage and after a quick tour from the friendly staff we had decided to move and spend the rest of the holiday here! What greater praise could we give! Our children, aged 20 months and 4 loved the pools, and the beach was also lovely, especially as the resort staff would clear the beach after debris was swept up by the sea unlike other resorts. The restaurant was fantastic, if a little more expensive than others but by no means expensive by Western standards (max $50 for an evening meal for the 4 of us) and the breakfast buffet included in the room rate was great too with a great selection of pancakes, fruit, eggs, homemade yogurt, coffee and juices. We also really liked the free happy hour cocktail at 4pm - everyone came out for it and the staff would also join the guests which was a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and by the end of the first day knew all of our names and would make a huge effort with our kids. I really don't think we could fault this resort for anything - we were very well looked after and made to feel welcome throughout our stay. I would wholehearted recommend to anyone!

From the minute we walked through the gates of Cassia Cottage we felt like we were walking on a cloud. As we were taken down a delightfully groomed garden path to the check-in, the smiles on our faces were matched only by those of the staff.
We were two families with a one year old and three year old and booked one of the two bedroom beach houses. The beach house was perfect for our needs with plenty of space for an extra bed or cot, mosquito nets ( that are generously fitted by one of the ever pleasant staff each night @5pm), enormous bathroom and a living area that could easily host over ten people. The balcony led out to one of two pools and outdoor furniture that made relaxing all too easy.
I must commend this establishment for their ideals and standards of creating an ambience that felt so natural and relaxed. They are not trying to be a five star resort, yet create a magical atmosphere with the staff's incredible eyes for detail. By staying seven days (and having two children with us) we were able to develop a lovely harmony with the staff- from the gardeners, maintenance men, waiters, waitresses and two of the most professional managers I have ever encountered in 15 years of working in the tourism and hospitality industry.
The restaurant buffet breakfast is outstanding and the a la carte menu provides an array of fresh flavours as well as western dishes that some may find comforting. I would have like to have seen a little more flair and adventure in the dishes but this was not a major issue with so many local restaurants and flavours just minutes away by foot or taxi.
It was an honour to meet the owner as we checked out and I would have loved to have chatted for hours over how happy we all were as we left Phu Quoc.
Thankyou so much for everything- we will be back!

Thanks for understanding what we're trying to do, being charming guests, and telling others so warmly. Yup, we're aiming to make you "two percent" travelers totally happy, rather than worrying about the other ninety-eight, who want a more standard hotel experience. Your children were charming, and without a TV to distract them we enjoyed seeing them cavort around the gardens and pools.
We'll take your comments about the restaurant dishes lacking flair to heart. Next time, we'll have meat from your favorite Four-Legged Beach Critter [ Wink!]
