I have been to many Michelin star restaurants and this one is truly special. Chef Dieter Koschina having 2 Michelin stars for 15 years is not an easy feat! We arrived at sunset so that just added to the atmosphere of our meal. The view on the terrace is stunning. The menu is a 6 course set menu, but in reality you actually get 12 or 13 courses with all of the surprises added to the meal. The oyster with celery and caviar and the red mullet with chanterelles were our favorite dishes. From my understanding, the menu changes every night since many guests who stay at the hotel eat there multiple times during their stay. Now that would be pure indulgence! Service was attentive and friendly. The meal was well paced. We were there a bit over 3 hours but it seemed to fly by. If we are ever in Albufeira again, we will definitely be back to Vila Joya.
