The hotel is situated in a beautiful garden, perfectly maintained. It features a small swimming pool with a small splash pools for children, sports fields, separated for the hotel beach with sunbeds. The beach is sandy and rocky descent to the sea. The hotel is quiet and calm during the day. The number of visitors during the summer season is about 500-600 people. The nearest town is about 4-5 km. There is a need to have a car !!!. The nearest grocery store is about 200 meters away but the range of products is very limited.
The rooms are quite poor decorated, the bathroom is very small, shower stall rather designed for children, an adult has trouble to wash freely. Only few people from hotel staff speak English !!! (we met 4 !!!). There are plenty of animation but all are conducted exclusively in Italian. Due to the hotel internal regulation of the hours 1 pm-4:30 pm spaces non-use of the pool, playing fields and there is absolute silence (siesta).
In my opinion, it is perfect place for family to stay ... if you speak Italian (or if you don't care of this) otherwise you could have a problem to interact with animations and fully use all hotel features. Real problem for us was highly restricted siesta time. From my perspective it looks like a military camp rules but no holiday village. It was difficult for me to explain to my children that they have to go out from the pool in the best time of playing there.

Room tip: From the time perspective I will chose mobile home / bungalow !!!

Dear Rafal Z, thank you for your review.
Our guests are for 96% Italian. Of course the most people working here speak Italian but it is also true that we should have some more cooperators speaking other languages and we thank you for this tip. All you say about the Resort regulation is not a surprise that you have found but something perfectly explained on our website. In every Resort that I know, from 2 till 4 pm there is the “silence time”. Not everybody makes holiday just for having fun. The most of tourists want to have quiet and relax. I’m sorry that you had difficulties to explain your kids this rule but we will never change this very important point of view.
A military camp is a bit different… I’ve been a soldier and I know what I’m talking about.
Anyway I’ve been glad to meet you and to know all your friends travelling with you and I will save a good memory of you all hoping to see you again at Vascellero.
Best regards

Stayed at the Villaggio for three days recently with my family. Located on the east coast in Calabria. Grounds are kept nicely for the size of the resort... Very nice pool area and bar. Beach is a few minute walk with a restaurant by the water. Free breakfast buffet every morning. Room was clean but basic . Air conditioner worked fair. Wifi is sketchy at best... And you are limited to a certain amount of megabytes. Venture down to the beach in the evenings for some great food at the restaurant and gorgeous sunsets.
