top hotel, see lounge is just amazing. Penthouse in House V is great too, best hotel I’ve been in Tirol/Sud Tirol so far. Employees also have a really good and discrete attitude. Panorama restaurant was a great surprise.

Review of Quellenhof Luxury Resort Passeier

You feel right away that you arrive at a well run family resort at the Quellenhof, they have thought of everything and things are under control. The selection of kids activities at this resort is really outstanding, it’s truly a kids paradise.
The resort itself consist of, I believe 6 different hotel buildings, that are all connected. Each has its own wellness area, meaning it will take you 3 days just to find your way through the corridors, tunnels etc. And this is one of the problems with this place, it’s just a bit too big, and the coziness you want in a wellness resort kind of disappears.
Many of the buildings are relatively new, expensively built and well designed, with furniture matching the style. But, and it’s a big but, there are so many decorative items everywhere that completely ruins it, I would go so far as to call it tacky. Large green porcelain frogs, all kinds of plastic flowers, the style is very 80’s, really a shame as it lets down the otherwise good design. For us it was a deal breaker, but that is of course very individual.
The Garden Suite in the Parkresidenz was of older origin, but nicely touched up with modern design, and the perfect room for a family of 4-6 members. The restaurant in the same building was also excellent, and the staff went out of their way to please the customers.
A few suggestions for the hotel:
- We initially got the older washed-out white robes, which does not exactly give you a cozy feeling (one does wear this all day). We then asked to swap them for the newer thicker grey ones that other guests were wearing. Why even use these old ones? Get rid of them, and give all guest new robes, it also looks much better with guests in uniform robes in warm colors.
- No TV working on cardio machines in the gym, a real shame, the TV’s are there, looks like a cable is connected, just no one bothered to check if it works.
All together a great resort, but too big and design wise just not to our taste.

First of all, we are very pleased that you generally felt comfortable with us and that you praised the family atmosphere at our resort. This is a point that we attach particular importance to.
At the same time, we regret that you found our resort too spacious and that it was not easy for you to find your way around. It is true that our hotel has grown somewhat in recent years. To make orientation easier, our team explains the resort to our guests at check-in, including where the most important things such as the restaurant, various spa areas, Acqua Family Parc, ... are located. We have also tried to make the routes a little easier to understand with a very clear color-coding system. The colors also match the colors on the resort map and in the brochure, so it should be a little easier to find your way around. However, whenever you have difficulty finding something, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be very happy to help you.
We also offer a guided tour of the resort 3 times a week, during which one of our employees takes our guests on a little tour of our hotel. Perhaps this would be something for you next time?
We are also very sorry to hear that we did not meet your taste with our decoration. As you correctly say, this is subject to everyone's individual taste and as tastes are different, we of course fully accept your opinion. Some people prefer "less is more", while others prefer something more fancy.
Our host Meggy Dorfer personally takes care of the decoration in our hotel. Mrs. Dorfer has an eye for beauty and selects our decorations with great precision at the style fairs in Munich and Paris. Our flowers are not simple plastic flowers, but very high-quality silk flowers that are delicately crafted.
Of course, we would also prefer to work more with fresh cut flowers throughout the house. To be honest, this is a question of cost given our size, and it's also not possible because we don't have daylight everywhere. Nevertheless, we are aware that this would of course be very nice.
Thank you also for your comment regarding bathrobes. The white bathrobes you are referring to are the ones we used for our guests last season. Why we still give these bathrobes to our guests is simply a matter of sustainability. There are still some bathrobes left over and as we don't want to simply throw them away, they are still being handed out to our guests. We very much hope that you can understand our approach. However, we will no longer be using these bathrobes in the coming season, so we kindly ask for your understanding!
Finally, we would like to thank you very much for your valuable advice regarding the fitness equipment. We have immediately asked our janitors to take a look at the defective equipment and repair it as quickly as possible. Sometimes there are short-term defects that we don't actually notice straight away. We therefore greatly appreciate when our guests inform us of such defects so that we can react immediately. Thank you very much!
All in all, we hope that the above-mentioned points did not spoil your stay too much and that you still had a pleasant time with us. We would really be delighted if you would perhaps honor us with another visit.

We stayed here six nights with our 2yr-old toddler. (Also relevant, we're Americans living in London)
We were in the Alpenschlössel unit, which is a very steep 5-min walk away from the main property (they have a shuttle, but it usually requires a few minutes' wait). Overall, we had the feeling of being in a rather dated property from the 80s or 90s. For example, the kids pool area in the main building showed signs of wear, particularly in the 'lazy river' area.
Our room itself was large and well air-conditioned, but the balcony overlooked the courtyard, and when there was live music it was quite disturbing.
There were two major problems:
1: The building is next to some sort of chicken farm, and in the heat the smell was disgusting.
2: The main restaurant, lobby, and lounge areas had almost non-existent air conditioning. Given the predictable and very high heat of this summer, this is unacceptable in a 'luxury' property.
In addition, there were a number of smaller problems:
1: The pillows were almost a joke - more like a thick blanket than anything actually supportive.
2: There were no USB ports in the room, which is unusual in 2023
3: There was a motion-sensor light in the room which was quite disturbing when we had a toddler asleep in the room with us
4: The kids playground at Alpenschlossel was unkempt - we found animal feces on the ground.
5: The pools had no shallow area (apart from in the kids pool in the main building). This meant that I or my wife had to hold our toddler the entire time. Not a relaxing experience!
6: We couldn't find towels at the pool, and had to bring our own from our room.
Finally, (and this isn't the hotel's fault), there were no other English-speaking guests there, i.e. Brits or Americans. Everyone was friendly enough and spoke good English, but we certainly felt out of place.
That said, the meals were of very high quality, and we appreciated the multi-course options each night, with a great wine list to match.

Thank you for sharing your holiday memories!
First of all, we are very sorry to hear that you did not feel comfortable with us. We would like to assure you that every guest, regardless of language or origin, is equally welcome and treated in the same way. Due to our territorial location and proximity to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, most of our guests are of course from these areas. Nonetheless, international guests, including those from the United States and the United Kingdom, visit us from time to time.
Thank you also for your comment regarding our Acqua Family Park. We built this area only a few years ago to provide our younger guests with a place full of fun and adventure. We are very surprised to hear that you describe this area as rather old-fashioned. It is normally very popular among our guests and appreciated even by older guests. Please feel free to let us know via quality@quellenhof.it what exactly you were not satisfied with.
We are always looking to modernize and improve our resort. For example, our Forellenhof was recently renovated and brought up to a spectacular standard. During our winter break, some other areas are also being modernized and will soon shine in new splendor.
Many of our guests appreciate the fact that some areas of our house are kept more classical, resulting in a great mix of modern and classic. But that is of course a matter of personal taste.
We would also like to mention that there is a small farm near our hotel where chickens are kept. However, we have never received any negative feedback in this regard. We are sorry if you were disturbed by any unpleasant smell. However, as we are also located in the middle of nature between the mountains, it is of course possible that odors from nature and the surroundings can be perceived. This cannot be completely avoided due to our position. We kindly ask for your understanding!
We would also like to emphasize that the areas you mentioned were equipped with air conditioning in summer. We are sorry that you were nevertheless too warm. You could have informed us about this, and we would have adjusted the air conditioning to a higher level. Never be afraid to inform us of individual wishes; we will be more than happy to fulfil them.
It is true that our pool does not have a shallow area. We can offer this to our guests in our main resort at Quellenhof. As you know, there is a small paddling pool especially for babies and toddlers where they can really let off steam. However, we would be happy to pass on your feedback to our host so that he can think about such an extension. Thank you for your valuable input!
Our guests will find towels in all our sauna areas. The reason why we do not leave them open in all pools is simply that we want to avoid a complete waste of towels and to strengthen the issue of sustainability. We kindly ask for your understanding!
We are also sorry if you were not satisfied with your pillows. We have an in-house Pillow Menu and a selection of different pillows. You are welcome to let our housekeeping ladies know at any time if you would like a different pillow. We will be happy to bring it to your room.
Thank you also for your comment regarding movement sensor. We regret that you found this annoying. Many of our guests appreciate this very much, for example to have light when going to the toilet at night. Of course, we also have many rooms without motion sensors. Please let us know what you would like in your room next time. We will do our best to offer you the perfect room, if of course occupancy allows us to do so.
Furthermore, we would like to apologize for the animal droppings in the playground. Our housekeeping ladies of course always clean our areas very thoroughly and reliably - nevertheless, it can of course happen that guests do not keep to the rules and, for example, enter the playground with their dogs, which then do their business there. This must not happen, of course - you are absolutely right. If you see such a situation again, please let us know immediately so that we can take care of it!
All in all, we hope that we have been able to answer the points you have raised as well as possible.
It would be a real pleasure for us if we could perhaps welcome you again and you can then truly enjoy a wonderful stay with us without any compromises.

Absolutely love this place - every detail considered! The surroundings are amazing, amenities improving all the time and superb choice of food. Rooms very clean and inviting! Spa treatments are great and had no problem booking whilst there. Lots of outdoor activities and great pool areas - so relaxing!! Just lovely

It was my 3rd stay at Quellenhof and it is always a treat to enjoy a few relaxing days there. The staff is incredibly friendly and the facilities and food are exceptional! If you are going with friends, your partner or your whole family, there is something for everyone.

Fantastic place, so much to do, but please why are cigars allowed to be smoken when children are about. I really struggle to understand this !
We here returned after 2 years and only difference would be some of the infrastructure needs to be looked at, toilets broken my pool bar, no paper towels for 2-days..I could go on

We are happy to briefly address the points you mentioned.
In Italy, since 2005, there is a strict smoking ban in all public and publicly accessible buildings as well as restaurants and offices. Smoking is only allowed in designated smoking areas and outdoors.
We are of course sorry if you have been disturbed by the smell of smoke from others.
Unfortunately, we cannot prohibit our guests from smoking in our outdoor area - despite this, we naturally appeal to a sense of responsibility and ask for a respectful treatment, also towards children. We deeply hope for your understanding!
We would also like to thank you for your valuable advice regarding the defect in the toilet and the toilet paper. What you described does not normally correspond to our Quellenhof standard.
Our housekeeping ladies normally work very reliably and always refill any inventory. We are very sorry that this omission occurred. We have immediately informed our team to be more accurate and reliable in the future so that this does not happen again.
Of course, we also asked our janitor to take a look at the defect in the toilet and fix it.
Unfortunately, special defects can occur at very short notice and thus remain hidden from us for a certain period. We are therefore very grateful to our guests if they inform us so that we can react quickly.
All in all, we apologize for the aforementioned inconveniences and will do our utmost to ensure that everything is to your satisfaction next time!
