The villa was an absolute dream to return to everyday. Spacious and clean, it had everything we needed and more. The pool and the view across the island was absolutely fantastic. Steve and Adelia gave us plenty of recommendations for places to visit and places to eat, a superb help. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. Great location in the near centre of the island so getting around the island is easy (with a car).
Our first visit to Corfu was a wonderful week spent at Villa Erasmia in Gastouri. It is an ideal location, close to major attractions like Old Corfu, The Achillion Palace, beaches and restaurants. Yet, nestled on the hillside amid olive groves, it affords all the peace and quiet and stunning views of an island paradise. The villa comprises the main house, where the owners, Adelia and Steve Cook live, and two guest apartments, one suitable for a family or group and the other suitable for a couple. My husband and I stayed in 'Olive tree' and found it ideal for our needs. It is comfortable with all you need for self-catering purposes and the hosts provide a generous and very useful basket of goodies for breakfasts and snacks. It is newly renovated with effective air-conditioning, comfortable bed and a peaceful ambience. We did very little self-catering as the food in local restaurants was too good to miss; especially the olive oil from groves in every back garden. We did not rent a car but chose instead to avail of the benefit of Adelia's day tours. We were glad to have a local's knowledge of the lesser known beaches, happily free of hordes of tourists and to visit enchanting old villages like Chlomas as well as eat at restaurants with a local flavour, visit local wineries and olive wood shops. Although Corfu is a small island, its snaking maze of twisting narrow roads make it easy to get lost and a certain level of steeliness in the nerve department is required to negotiate the roads and the Greek drivers! We got to see ancient monasteries, enjoy Greek music and dancing as well as mix with local people, particularly at Lefteris Taverna. A week was not long enough and we hope to go back to Corfu and Villa Erasmia.
I was in villa Erasmia for 9 days, we were in 4 and we had a great time.
Mrs Adelia has helped us a lot, She made us way for find the villa. P0As soon as we got there we did take a walk around the house and explained it to us all, it was really nice to have us find a basket full of snacks and other stuff even in the fridge. It was already provided with courtesy kit, detergent, soap, etc.
Anyway!she has a beautiful dog : Rosie, She's so so sweet
It was adorable!
Adelia is been a helpful, kind, available and sweet person.
We had wanderful days and i'm so happy for this.
I really recommend it to everyone because it was beautiful, the house was gorgeous.
My sister and I had the loveliest stay in Villa Erasmia. How lucky are we that our friends bought a Villa in Corfu! We stayed in their two-bedroom apartment, it was so nice having our own rooms with big comfortable beds and our own kitchenette and lounge room with all modern cons. The apartments are self-contained, secure, clean and everything has just been renovated, you won’t have any worries staying here.
We were there in August 2016, which was summer and although it was a very hot one the apartment had the best air-conditioning. The water pressure in their roomy shower is lovely. The villa is on a large block with a Mediterranean garden and olive grove and a friendly dog that does not go into the apartment! The owners enjoy a splendid view from their second story balcony, there are also views from the apartment’s patio. They are very friendly and hospitable people and are very obliging to tourists. As there was still some external works being completed on the villa, we stayed as the owners guests.
Summer is a lovely time to visit, we were there for St Spyridon day, the patron saint of Corfu and we spent the day enjoying the festivities in the ‘Corfu Old town’. If you have ever read ‘My family and other animals’ you will be pleased to know that Corfu retains the charms and ethos from the books, the pastel coloured villas, crystal clear waters, olive trees, tiny scoops owls chirping at night, it really quaint.
My sister and I had four days in Athens and ten days in Corfu and found this an ideal mix. You can enjoy swimming and relaxing in Corfu and go island hoping in the sparkling Ionian Sea, we hopped over to Paxos and Anti-Paxos. We also found Corfu the ideal base for day tripping, a short walk from the Villa was a little tourist accommodation hub where all the tour coaches pick up and drop off from. We did a day tour to Meteora on the mainland and another day trip to the UNESCO archaeological site in Butrint, Albania.
Villa Erasmia is in Gastouri, it is located approximately 500 metre below the Achillion Palace, which is a must see. It is a nice relaxed part of Corfu, we got friendly with the local proprietors of Lefteris Taverna, which is in walking distance from the villa, They do freshly cooked, tasty, cheap and cheerful traditional Greek meals. Simple things like tomatoes grown in the Mediterranean taste so yummy, I love Greek food. Quick get me a ticket as I want to return! I would definitely stay at Villa Erasmia again.
